Ensure that patient information is collected and patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>This is a full-time position. Hours may vary. &nbsp;Pay is $16.20 an hour.</strong></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Interviews patients or their representative to obtain personal information or verify information already on file, including emergency numbers and insurance information. &nbsp;Enters required demographic information into the computer database. &nbsp;Accepts reservations for direct admit patients. &nbsp;Obtains signature from patient or representative for testing and/or treatment or admission.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide patients all required notifications regarding patient rights. Initiates the Advance Directive process. &nbsp;Distributes Medicare IM Form and Medicaid Patient Rights Literature. &nbsp;Provide information to the patient regarding billing, visiting hours and hospital specific literature where warranted.</li><li>Pre-registers patients for scheduled admissions and outpatient procedures, verifying insurance information and making sure a complete order is secured. &nbsp;</li><li>Consults other departments as appropriate to provide information needed for patient safety and care. &nbsp;Answers incoming calls from departments to make necessary patient status changes in system. &nbsp;Distributes appropriate information to departments as warranted. &nbsp;Make sure chart copies are scanned for Medical Records and auditing.</li><li>Collects or makes arrangements to collect co-payments and/or co-insurance due at time of service. &nbsp;Records payments in computer database. &nbsp;Provides a receipt for payment to the patient and Finance Department. &nbsp;Refers patients to Customer Service when financial arrangements need to be made. &nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Education:</strong> High school diploma or equivalent</li></ul></div></div></div></div>\n",
