Provide first response to trouble calls;  investigate, correct and clear trouble, and provide assistance to construction and repair crews, as required.  All items apply to overhead and underground, as applicable. Employee may perform miscellaneous, related, and incidental work in addition to that specifically outlined below.   The Line Servicer builds upon the skills, abilities and knowledge learned as a Line Mechanic A, Lineman A (or equivalent).<p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Description</b></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p><b>Line Servicer:</b></p><p></p><p></p><p><b>What You&#39;ll Do:</b></p><ul><li><p>Analyze and take corrective action with respect to trouble calls on all types of transmission and distribution circuits and equipment.  </p></li><li><p>Investigate trouble calls; patrol and inspect lines; locate, clear and repair faults on lines and equipment.  Refuse line and transformer cutouts; repair and adjust street light control equipment; install and remove transformers, meters and services.  </p></li><li><p>Coordinate and/or conduct complex circuit switching and restoration of service resulting from trouble calls.  </p></li><li><p>Work with hot line equipment on energized circuits for emergency repairs or routine maintenance of facilities.  </p></li><li><p>Independently interface with emergency forces, such as fire and police departments, to accomplish safe trouble call restoration. </p></li><li><p>Communicate effectively with customers and formulate a plan designed to serve their needs as well as the Company’s in resolving trouble calls.  Inform customer if trouble is located in customer’s wiring or equipment; investigate radio and TV interference.  </p></li><li><p>Install, remove, operate and maintain residential, commercial and industrial facilities, both overhead and underground.  </p></li><li><p>Disconnect and connect meters; read in and read out meters.</p></li><li><p>Operate line switches; operate switches and replace fuses in stations; request, make and accept line and station clearances.</p></li><li><p>Perform similar or less skilled work. </p></li><li><p>Direct the work of employees assigned to assist. </p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>What We&#39;re Looking For:</b></p><p></p><p><b>Education</b>:</p><ul><li><p>High school diploma or GED.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Experience</b>:</p><ul><li><p>Minimum of 2 years of work experience as Line Mechanic A, Lineman A or the equivalent experience as determined by the Company or 480 tracked and verifiable hours stepped up to a Line Servicer role.</p></li><li><p>Shall have performed the duties of and have all the qualifications of Lineman A or the equivalent and shall qualify through demonstration, examination and/or performance appraisal as determined by the Company. </p></li><li><p>A physical abilities assessment is also required for this position.</p></li><li><p>This role requires regular overtime and on-call response.</p></li><li><p>Travel, including out of town travel, may also be required.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Licenses/Certifications</b>:</p><ul><li><p>Valid Class A CDL is required.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Drive Time Requirement</b>: </p><ul><li><p>Successful candidate must live or be willing to relocate within 30 miles of the Canton South Service Center (2100 Shepler Church Ave Canton, Ohio 44706)</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>What You&#39;ll Get:</b></p><p></p><p><b>Line Servicer: $58.80</b></p><p></p><p>In addition to a competitive compensation, AEP offers a unique comprehensive benefits package that aims to support and enhance the overall well-being of our employees.</p><p></p><p>At AEP, we’re more than just an energy company — we’re a team of dedicated professionals committed to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions.
