This role will act as the subject matter expert, ensuring all fire system designs, products, and installations meet regulatory standards, industry best practice, and client requirements. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and project teams to drive technical excellence and innovation.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Accountabilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Technical Leadership</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as the lead technical authority on fire protection systems across the business.</li>\n<li>Provide guidance and support to engineering, sales, and project delivery teams.</li>\n<li>Review and approve system designs, calculations, and technical documentation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Design &amp; Compliance</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure all fire system solutions comply with relevant standards (e.g., BS, EN, NFPA where applicable).</li>\n<li>Oversee hydraulic calculations, system layouts, and equipment selection.</li>\n<li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and legislative changes.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Product &amp; Solution Development</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development and optimisation of fire system products and packaged solutions.</li>\n<li>Work closely with R&amp;D and product teams to ensure solutions meet market and regulatory requirements.</li>\n<li>Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements or innovations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Project Support</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide technical input during tendering, design, and project execution phases.</li>\n<li>Assist with complex or high-value projects, including troubleshooting and technical problem-solving.</li>\n<li>Support commissioning and handover processes where required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Stakeholder Engagement</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as a key technical contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.</li>\n<li>Support the sales team with technical presentations and client meetings.</li>\n<li>Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Quality Assurance &amp; Risk Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure adherence to internal quality standards and processes.</li>\n<li>Conduct technical audits and reviews of ongoing and completed projects.</li>\n<li>Identify and mitigate technical risks across fire system designs and installations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Training &amp; Development</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver technical training and mentoring to internal teams.</li>\n<li>Develop technical documentation, guidance notes, and best practice standards.</li>\n<li>Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the business.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We’re Looking For</span></p>\n<p>To thrive in this role, you should bring:</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education &amp; Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, or a related discipline.</li>\n<li>Significant experience in fire protection systems (e.g., sprinklers, pumps, hydrants, suppression systems).</li>\n<li>Proven experience in a technical leadership or senior engineering role.</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of relevant standards (e.g., BS EN, LPCB, FM, NFPA).</li>\n<li>Experience working within manufacturing, building services, or fire protection industries.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Technical Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong knowledge of fire system design principles and hydraulic calculations.</li>\n<li>Experience with fire pump systems, booster sets, and associated controls.</li>\n<li>Proficiency in relevant engineering/design software and tools.</li>\n<li>Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.</li>\n<li>Understanding of system integration within wider building services.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Soft Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.</li>\n<li>Strong leadership and mentoring capability.</li>\n<li>Analytical thinking with a problem-solving mindset.</li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.</li>\n<li>High attention to detail and commitment to quality.</li>\n<li>Proactive, collaborative, and results-driven approach.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why Armstrong Fluid Technology?</span></p>\n<p>By joining us, you’ll become part of a global community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fluid-flow technology while upholding Armstrong's commitment to sustainability.
