    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The <strong>Mechanic Shop Helper</strong> supports the daily operations of the equipment shop by assisting with maintenance, repairs, and organization of tools, equipment, and vehicles. This hands-on role is ideal for someone mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a team environment.</p><p>You will work closely with mechanics and other team members to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean, organized workspace. A proactive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed are key to success in this role.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Salary Range:</strong> $35,000 – $45,000</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Assist with diagnosing and repairing small engines and outdoor power equipment (gas, electric, or pneumatic).</li><li>Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment.</li><li>Test equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance.</li><li>Communicate with supervisors and operators to clarify issues and recommend preventative maintenance practices.</li><li>Maintain an organized workspace and assist with inventory tracking of tools, parts, and supplies.</li><li>Support overall shop and facility cleanliness and upkeep.</li><li>Complete repair documentation, including work orders, parts usage, and time tracking.</li><li>Assist with equipment and tool delivery as needed.</li><li>Follow all safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Education</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>High school diploma, GED, or equivalent</li></ul><p><strong>Experience</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Entry-level position; mechanical aptitude preferred</li></ul><p><strong>Skills &amp; Requirements</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Basic mechanical knowledge and willingness to learn</li><li>Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record</li><li>Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office 365 preferred)</li><li>Ability to obtain the following certifications (training provided):&nbsp;<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\"><li>Forklift certification</li><li>Aerial lift certification</li><li>Rigging and signaling certification</li></ul></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Physical &amp; Work Requirements</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Combination of standing, walking, and sitting; up to 75% of the workday may be outdoors on construction sites</li><li>Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work in confined spaces</li><li>Frequent use of hands and arms to operate tools and equipment</li><li>Visual ability to inspect work, detect small defects, and operate machinery</li><li>Hearing and communication ability for in-person, phone, and radio use</li><li>Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and carry/push materials 50–100 feet</li><li>Regular bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling</li><li>Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and situational awareness</li><li>Ability to work independently, make decisions, and organize tasks effectively</li></ul>",
