For over 60 years, we’ve been creating safe, engaging spaces where children can play, create, and connect after school.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Here’s what we offer when you join our team:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A positive, supportive team culture where your contributions are valued</li>\n<li>Ongoing paid professional development to enhance your skills and advance your career</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Duties and Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, implement, and participate in quality and diverse recreational, social, and/or educational programming.</li>\n<li>Orients new families and members to the program and club.</li>\n<li>Provide direct supervision of members, and ensure their health, safety, and wellness.</li>\n<li>Mentors, guides and leads Activity Leaders within the program and activities.</li>\n<li>Build relationships with the children, youth, and families within their designated programs. Establishes open communication with parents/caregivers.</li>\n<li>Use Club vans to pick up members from school and transport to various sites if required.</li>\n<li>Prepare nutritious snacks and meals for members</li>\n<li>Provides group and/or individual behaviour management and support.</li>\n<li>Ensures Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, WCB standards, Community Care Licensing Regulations, Risk Management requirements and general safety standards are met.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Education in childcare and/or experience planning, implementing and evaluating childcare programs.</li>\n<li>One (1) year recent related experience</li>\n<li>Completion of a course or a combination of courses of at least 20 hours duration which include child development, guidance, health and safety or nutrition (licensed programs)</li>\n<li>First Aid Certificate and Food Safe or willingness to obtain</li>\n<li>Class 5 Driver’s Licence and willingness to obtain Class 4 DL as soon as possible</li>\n<li>Must be at least 19 years of age as per licensing requirements</li>\n<li>Successful completion of Agency screening including a Criminal Record Check</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hours: </span>casual/on-call hours available between 1:15pm to 6:15pm</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rate of Pay: </span>$21.02 per hour</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Closing Date:</span> Open until filled</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>As an equal opportunity employer, BGC Okanagan is committed to the prioritization of equitable and inclusive employment practices.
