Description The Senior Accountant supports the annual operating plan and quarterly forecast processes while managing key month ‑ end close activities for Corporate Support. Assistance with accounting needs of Corporate Support departments & Ad-hoc analysis and transactional research. User acceptance testing of reports and system changes Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Scope: The Senior Accountant supports Corporate Support's financial planning/forecasting and accounting activities, contributing directly to the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and Corporate Support month ‑ end close processes. The role interacts with multiple departments across the business, ensuring accurate financial data, timely reporting, and adherence to accounting standards. This position influences corporate functions by maintaining reliable financial information that supports decision ‑ making across the organization. Problem Solving: The role requires strong analytical capabilities to interpret financial data, identify variances, and resolve discrepancies within tight deadlines. The Senior Accountant must evaluate information, anticipate potential issues in financial processes, and develop practical, solutions ‑ oriented recommendations. This includes researching accounting questions, improving processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records under varying business conditions. Impact: The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the quality and reliability of financial information used across the organization. The Senior Accountant must demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and the ability to guide others through financial procedures. The position also requires managing workload peaks, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining accountability for timely, high ‑ quality deliverables. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting) Master’s Degree (preferred) Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or similar certification (preferred but not required) 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in a public accounting firm or comparable environment Experience with Oracle Financial Systems (preferred) Experience with Hyperion Essbase (preferred) Experience with BlackLine (preferred) Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high ‑ quality work. Dedicated to the timely delivery of accurate and reliable financial outputs. Strong process orientation with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Creative, solutions ‑ oriented thinker with the ability to navigate issues. Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to evaluate information quickly to support rapid decision ‑ making. Travel : Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
