With doctors, nurses, specialists, labs and medical records all interlinked and coordinated, patient care has never been in better hands.</p><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Job Title:&nbsp;</strong>Nurse Practitioner &ndash; Urgent Care, Physician Assistant - Urgent Care</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>Department:&nbsp;</strong>Clinical&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>Immediate Supervisor Title:&nbsp;</strong>Medical Director and Attending Physicians</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>General Summary:&nbsp;</strong>Provide comprehensive medical care on an independent basis&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Job Responsibilities:</strong></p><ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\"><li>Provide acute medical care to all age groups.</li><li>Utilize evidence-based medicine principals to ensure thorough, quality healthcare.</li><li>Emphasize high-quality patient care and exceptional customer service by example.</li><li>Consult with physicians and outside specialists as needed to assure appropriate diagnosis, treatment and follow up is achieved.</li><li>Order imaging and lab tests in a responsible manner and within the standard of care.</li><li>Provide orientation, training and clinical supervision/guidance of new PA and NP providers and support staff as needed.</li><li>Make complete, accurate and legible patient encounter entries.</li><li>Use appropriate referral to higher level of care whenever there are concerns for a life threatening condition.</li><li>.Develop and cultivate relationships with the patients and their families.</li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Example of Day-to-Day Responsibilities (accomplishes directly or through delegation)</strong></p><ol start=\"1\" type=\"1\"><li>Evaluate and treat patients while staying mindful of the backlog of waiting patients to facilitate volume related patient flow.</li><li>Provide triage as needed for patients that exhibit severe discomfort or the potential for a life-threatening condition and discuss with the supervising physician.</li><li>Mentor support staff members.</li><li>Maintain a positive attitude at all times toward the patient, their family member and the staff.</li><li>Ensure customer flow and satisfaction is optimized.</li><li>Address difficult patients in the clinic as well as on the phone.</li><li>Alert the Staff Nurse or Clinical Manager of broken, missing or out of stock equipment and/or supplies.</li><li>Respond to patient feedback and resolve customer service issues.</li></ol><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Experience:&nbsp;</strong>Minimum of 1-year urgent care or emergency medicine experience</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>Other Requirements:&nbsp;</strong>ACLS/BLS certification required; PALS highly recommended, unrestricted Colorado License, unrestricted DEA License</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Equipment Operated:&nbsp;</strong>Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Clinical life support equipment including crash cart and its contents, defibrillator and basic airway equipment.</p><p><strong>Work Environment:&nbsp;</strong>Position is in a well-lighted clinical environment. Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be necessary as required to facilitate uninterrupted operations of the practice.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Mental/Physical Requirements:&nbsp;</strong>Involves sitting approximately 70 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
