Nestled at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, just two hours north of Downtown Vancouver, Fairmont Chateau Whistler defines mountain luxury. Offering ski-in, ski-out convenience in the winter, and an on-site championship golf course in the summer, we are Canada’s year-round outdoor adventure destination. Additionally, we are Whistler's largest conference resort hotel, offering 5 unique dining outlets, a slope-side Health Club, and 519 guestrooms and suites. Assistant Director of Finance As Assistant Director of Finance, you will play a key leadership role in delivering all accounting, finance, and business support functions across the hotel. You will partner closely with leaders across the property to drive performance, ensure strong financial governance, and support strategic decision-making, while leading and developing a high-performing finance team. This is a full-time, permanent position , starting as soon as possible. Pay Range: $105,000 - $115,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications Job Duties Include: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance department, mentoring and developing the team while driving engagement and performance Leading month-end, preparing and delivering accurate financial reporting including forecasts and variance analysis Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements Oversee accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management Ensure all income audit, revenue reporting, and reconciliations are accurate and timely Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes to optimize results Partner with operational leaders to provide financial insight and support decision-making Analyze labour, food & beverage, and operational costs to improve profitability Drive process improvements and maintain financial systems and tools Maintain compliance with all legal and fiscal requirements impacting the hotel Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred) Previous experience in a senior finance leadership role (e.g., Controller or hotel Director of Finance level) preferred 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or analysis, including leadership experience Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Job Perks & Benefits: Subsidized staff accommodation provided Access to our Employee Travel Program, with discounts on room rates and food & beverage at Fairmont & Accor properties worldwide Hotel leisure benefits including Golf/Ski passes Complimentary meal in our staff cafeteria per shift Visa Requirements : To progress with your application, you must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
