    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Title:  Managing Environmental Planner - CEQA</span></p>\n<p>Location:  Irvine, CA</p>\n<p>Job Type:  Full time</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What’s the Opportunity?</span></p>\n<p>Lead project teams in the development and implementation of California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)/National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) planning and regulatory permitting strategies for a variety of projects related to port and waterfront redevelopment, water and energy infrastructure projects, ecological restoration, coastal resilience, and land use planning. You will oversee the development of environmental assessments and technical studies, and interact with clients, agencies, and other consultant teams to help develop important projects focusing on California’s coastal and aquatic environments.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span><br></p>\n<p>The managing planner will join Anchor QEA’s growing planning and permitting team in California to lead environmental impact reviews and permitting processes for a variety of projects. This work includes the following responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee preparation of technical analyses and reports for CEQA, NEPA, and other environmental documents to comply with state and federal regulations</li>\n<li>Oversee the preparation of regulatory permit application materials, by providing vision and guidance for staff on the review and interpretation of land use and development codes and regulatory agency requirements</li>\n<li>Act as the primary interface with clients, agencies, and other consultant team members regarding project strategies, technical approach and implementation schedules</li>\n<li>Develop and manage project scopes of work, budgets, and schedules</li>\n<li>Contribute meaningfully to Anchor QEA’s project pipeline by leading or supporting competitive project pursuits, helping develop growth strategies, and serving as a subject matter expert on proposals, where applicable</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What Are We Looking For? </span></p>\n<p>Ideal candidates will have the following:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree or higher with 12+ years of relevant experience, preferably with consulting experience</li>\n<li>Experienced in developing environmental documentation related to CEQA/NEPA and state and federal regulations focused on but not limited to:\n<ul>\n<li>Endangered Species Act</li>\n<li>Section 404/Section 401 of the Clean Water Act</li>\n<li>Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act</li>\n<li>Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act</li>\n<li>Coastal Zone Management Act</li>\n<li>California Coastal Act</li>\n<li>Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act</li>\n<li>Section 1600 of the California Fish and Game Code</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with public outreach to support environmental documents</li>\n<li>Experienced managing projects and leading teams of people</li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication</li>\n<li>Able to effectively balance and delegate workload</li>\n<li>Experienced in leading proposals for competitive project pursuits</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What Can You Expect? </span></p>\n<p>A managing-level environmental planner at Anchor QEA can expect:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strategic, impact-focused role, shaping project approaches and outcomes</li>\n<li>Highly supportive environment, leading multi-disciplinary, collaborative teams</li>\n<li>High-visibility client and agency interaction, helping to guide key decision makers</li>\n<li>Ownership of business development strategies, emphasizing valued relationships</li>\n<li>Opportunities to shape the firm’s future with visibility into strategic planning</li>\n<li>Culture of flexibility and accountability with an emphasis on work-life balance</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who Are We? </span></p>\n<p>Anchor QEA provides environmental planning, science, and engineering consulting services with the mission of transforming our environment and communities with integrity and vibe.
