This inpatient-focused neurology position provides acute neurological care within our Primary Stroke Center while integrating with the broader OHNI network of over 45 physicians across multiple subspecialties.</p>\n<h3>Location</h3>\n<p>Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, Clermont, Florida (Lake County), is a full-service acute care hospital serving the community for over 75 years, with nearby outpatient neuroscience services at the OHNI Clermont clinic.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Inpatient Neurology Consultation</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide timely neurology consults for hospitalist services, ICU, emergency department, and surgical teams</li>\n <li>Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for new neurological symptoms</li>\n <li>Manage hospitalized patients with stroke, seizures, acute headache, encephalopathy, neuromuscular crises, and other urgent neurological conditions</li>\n <li>Follow patients through step-down and floor units after ICU or emergency care</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Multidisciplinary Team Model</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with neurosurgeons, rehab specialists, dedicated neuroscience nursing teams, and advanced practice providers</li>\n <li>Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds with hospitalists, ICU teams, emergency physicians, and therapy staff</li>\n <li>Access to system-wide neuroscience resources and subspecialty expertise across the Orlando Health network</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Clermont, Florida </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Clermont is the most populous city in Lake County, Florida, which sits about 22 miles west of Orlando, making it roughly a 35-minute drive from downtown Orlando and theme parks like Disney World and Universal Studios. The area is known for its rolling hills, which are atypical of the Florida peninsula, earning it the nickname \"gem of the hills.\" The Clermont area lies on the northern part of the Lake Wales Ridge and is surrounded by the Clermont chain of lakes, including Lake Minneola and nearby Lake Apopka. Clermont offers small-town charm with quick access to Orlando's amenities—ideal for those who want an active, outdoor-focused lifestyle while staying close to major attractions.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>MD or DO degree</li>\n <li>Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology</li>\n <li>Current medical license or ability to obtain Florida licensure</li>\n <li>Experience or strong interest in acute stroke care and inpatient neurology</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Vascular Neurology fellowship or additional stroke training</li>\n <li>Experience with telestroke or rapid stroke response protocols</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Primary Stroke Center metrics and quality initiatives</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Facility Description</h2>\n<p><strong>Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute offers patients a multidisciplinary approach to care that comprises consultative services, sophisticated diagnostic testing capabilities, and both noninvasive and advanced surgical treatment options. A highly skilled team of more than 40 physicians and 20 advanced practice providers deliver a superior level of care in more than 15 areas of specialty, including brain tumors, epilepsy, functional neurosurgery, headache and facial pain, interventional pain, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disease, neuropsychology and behavioral health, rehabilitation, spine surgery and vascular neurology/neurosurgery.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The institute delivers the most advanced neurological care available, including serving the area’s only Level I Trauma Center at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC). Its team has achieved Joint Commission stroke certification at six Orlando Health facilities, including the only Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center in Central Florida at Orlando Health ORMC, which provides the highest level of stroke expertise with four neurovascular neurosurgeons and 24/7 coverage by vascular neurologists. The program also has earned Joint Commission core certification in spine surgery and partners with Orlando Health Cancer Institute in a neuro-oncology/brain and spine tumor program.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In addition to clinical excellence, the institute maintains a strong focus on research and education, with a robust research program supporting participation in ongoing studies and clinical trials to improve outcomes and an established neurology residency program and future neurosurgery residency program.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The institute offers both inpatient and outpatient services and more than 10 practice locations across Central Florida. A planned state-of-the-art facility — anticipated to open in 2024 — will be the new home of Orlando Health Neuroscience Institute, serving patients throughout the southeastern United States. Located on Orlando Health’s downtown campus, the three-story, 45,000-square-foot building will enable the institute to care for more patients while also placing a team of highly skilled neurologists and neurosurgeons in one central and convenient location.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Orlando Health South Lake Hospital</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Conveniently located in Clermont, Orlando Health South Lake Hospital is a 170-bed comprehensive medical and surgical acute care facility serving the residents of Lake County as a trusted member of the community for nearly 75 years.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>With advanced technology and expertise in numerous areas of specialty, including cardiology, minimally invasive surgery, orthopedics and women’s services, the hospital provides a complete continuum of care.
