Description
This position is eligible for the $20,000 sign-on bonus.
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Pharmacists assess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use according to patient condition and age specific criteria. Pharmacists ensure prompt and accurate medication preparation and dispensing. Pharmacists supervise and direct supportive pharmacy personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems. Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate. Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients. Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients. Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care. Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance and dispensing of medications and supplies. Provide patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required. Adhere to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety. Maintain competence required for position. Perform other related duties as assigned.
