Specifically, the <strong>Machine Operator I</strong> is responsible for operating industrial equipment and machinery such as a laser machine, press brake, structural steel rolling machine, CNC milling machine etc. in accordance with company procedures. Operator will place production part into machine, cycle the equipment and retrieve the part. Employee is responsible for visually inspecting parts. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Other responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Setting up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order</li>\n <li>Maintaining and cleaning machines before and after each shift</li>\n <li>Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running</li>\n <li>Troubleshoot problems during machine operation</li>\n <li>Ensure stocks/inventory of needed materials and tools are ready and available at all times</li>\n <li>Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors</li>\n <li>Follows all plant safety guidelines, practices and procedures. Also, be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area</li>\n <li>Properly use personal protective equipment when required</li>\n <li>Notify supervisors/leads of problems that may occur with equipment or part quality</li>\n <li>Other activities may include but are not limited to: cutting, sawing, drilling, tapping, grinding, prepping kits and lay-outs to meet customer specifications</li>\n <li>Maintain regular attendance – have reliable means of transportation </li>\n <li>Perform other tasks as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable. </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have intermediate blueprint reading knowledge and the ability to follow the work order instructions </li>\n <li>Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available) </li>\n <li>Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test </li>\n <li>Team player - must be able to work with others assigned to machine </li>\n <li>Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals </li>\n <li>Adaptable to changing demands </li>\n <li>Attentive to detail watching for material defects and any quality issues </li>\n <li>Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting throughout shift </li>\n <li>Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs.</li>\n <li>Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidays</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts.</li>\n <li>Overhead LED lights throughout the workspace create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work.</li>\n <li>Normally clean work environment where the process creates some grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration. Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift.</li>\n <li>The noise level in the work environment is normal to manufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools.  Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement.</li>\n <li>Non-climate-controlled facility in the summer, each work area is provided with fans to help keep cool.
