    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div id=\"isPasted\"><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Horizon Health&nbsp;</strong>is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL &amp; a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. As we continue to expand our services &amp; locations, our community has grown far beyond Paris. Our rich history and strong community support pave the way for the future of healthcare as we serve you&mdash;our family, friends, and neighbors.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory testing. Assumes responsibility for troubleshooting, system controls and maintenance and precepting with limited supervision. The employee will collect blood specimens (venous, capillary) from patients.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Collects, tests and stores blood and blood products. Administers transfusion products, and procedures from releasing blood to nursing staff to maintain records for transfusions&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Follows laboratory policies and procedures for obtaining blood specimens, body fluids and swabs for laboratory testing</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs required procedures related to counting and identification of blood cells, coagulation studies</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs chemical tests on body fluids and exudates, tests urine and examines urine sediment for various types of cell bodies</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Process chemical testing on blood, serum, and plasma using various analyzers</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Perform routine serological tests on body fluids and other body materials to ascertain pathologic qualities</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs bacteriology culture setups and specific bacteriologic and viral identification using molecular test methods. Must be knowledgeable of bacteriology methods to isolate, identify and result susceptibility of various organisms</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs immunohematology methods in the transfusion medicine section</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist in mentoring and preceptorship of MLT students and new employees</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Performs instrument maintenance and quality control testing according to department procedure and testing schedule</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Records results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assumes responsibility of an assigned laboratory section including but not limited to researching, writing and maintaining procedure manuals. Incorporates knowledge in both theory and techniques</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Reviews quality control results, and other data to submit reports monthly to department leadership</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Is section support to staff in the areas that fall within the scope of training and capability</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain knowledge of section inventory (supplies, reagents, control material) reporting needs to department leadership in a timely manner</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Actively participates in continuing education opportunities, in-services and department meetings</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintains compliance with hospital policy and laboratory procedures</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><em>The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital&rsquo;s goals and objectives.</em></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:</strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Minimum of Associate Degree in Medical Technology.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Phlebotomy skills for wide range of patient ages is preferred.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Typing skills and experience with computer systems is preferred.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Registration in a recognized national certification is highly recommended.&nbsp;</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Pay Range:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Pay ranges from $18.654/hour to $28.748/hour for an uncertified MLT (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Pay ranges from $19.769/hour to $30.444/hour for a certified MLT (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Hours: Tuesday- Friday 9p-730am</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Horizon Health</strong> is committed to caring not only for our patients, but for our staff as well.
