    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Summary&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>This position works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.&nbsp; Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability, and yield. Perform equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance). Troubleshoot and diagnose more complex equipment problems. Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>This position is 1st shift M-F and is 100% onsite at our Southington, CT manufacturing facility.&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work as a team with other technicians.</li>\n <li>Provide direct support to the production team for maintenance in performing complex troubleshooting and equipment improvements.</li>\n <li>Specify ongoing maintenance requirements.</li>\n <li>Act as a technical resource to the maintenance technicians and escalate concerns to supervisor when necessary.</li>\n <li>Assume technical leadership role by providing guidance and mentoring for less experienced technicians.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Responsible for the successful completion of assigned maintenance tasks or process improvements.</li>\n <li>Integrate state-of-the-art technology with existing equipment to improve the process.</li>\n <li>Follow up on projects/assignments with minimum supervision.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Participate in the maintenance huddles and maintenance improvement discussions as a key team member in respective area of support.</li>\n <li>Plan, coordinate, install, and perform operational checkouts for equipment and processes in the assigned area of responsibility.</li>\n <li>Perform maintenance, repair, complex troubleshooting, redesign, and enhancement of mechanical, and electrical programs.</li>\n <li>Research and initiates miscellaneous purchase requisitions for materials, spare parts, equipment, and services.</li>\n <li>Troubleshoots and assists in repairs of equipment and processes in area of responsibility.&nbsp; Must make accurate and concise decisions or recommendations.</li>\n <li>Recommends timing appropriate for the situation, to supervisors regarding problem and review spare parts, specifications, SOP’s and preventative maintenance for equipment, processes in area of responsibility.</li>\n <li>Train other plant personnel in specific procedures, methods, and operations regarding processes and equipment as directed.</li>\n <li>Report evaluated test data in the form of verbal, written, electronic and formal presentations to supervisors and/or management for further input.</li>\n <li>Perform due diligence of problem and research potential solutions within existing cGMP, cGDP guidelines, SOP’s, and plant policies by cost/effectiveness/ease of operation/clean design.</li>\n <li>Adhere to &amp; maintain up-to-date status on pertinent cGMPs, cGDP, SOP’s, and plant policies/rules/training.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Serve as technical resource for the plant.</li>\n <li>Assist in line coverage during unexpected absences of the maintenance mechanics when needed.</li>\n <li>Perform other related duties as assigned or required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge &amp; Skills</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>The position requires a high level of resourcefulness, self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision, an ability to get things done by overcoming obstacles, anticipating, and resolving problems, making difficult compliant decisions, and finding a way to complete tasks through innovative actions in potentially different areas of the facility.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Able to interpret Engineering specifications and read engineering drawings.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Must have thorough knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical principles and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and/or processes to optimize its performance.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strong verbal communication, and technical writing ability necessary.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to exercise diplomacy in the leadership and direction of other employees is necessary.&nbsp; Must be flexible with work schedule and able to work overtime, weekends and adjust their work schedule on short notice, when needed to support plant operations or when requested by their supervisor.</li>\n <li>Required to become Qualified Fellow Employee (QFE).</li>\n <li>Candidate must pass the technical skills test.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Core Competency Functions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Problem Solving - (1). Member of a Project team or improvement champion whom others call upon to cascade improvement ideas. (2). Subject Matter Expert in Equipment Breakdown Root Cause Analysis, sharing knowledge with colleagues across all shifts and platforms (3). Leads Quick Improvement events and drive sustainment efforts, promoting inclusion of diverse experiences across multiple platforms</li>\n <li>Principles of Operation - (1). Assists others and transfer knowledge on the operation of complex equipment across multiple platforms (2). Develops and amend technical training and troubleshooting guides (3). Actively improves change-over standards by eliminating wastes within the process and shares best practices with colleagues</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications, Education &amp; Experience&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be at least 18 years of age</li>\n <li>High School diploma required. An associate degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.</li>\n <li>Requires 6-10 years’ experience with industrial mechanical, electrical or similar systems.</li>\n <li>Welding, pipe fitting, sheet metal work, and/or hydraulic hose fabrication experience preferred.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>The work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment.</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. unassisted.</li>\n <li>Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.</li>\n</ul>",
