The Estimator is responsible for all aspects of the estimating function, including bid analysis, plan review, quantity take offs, subcontractor pricing collection, putting together bid information, and assessment of both winning and losing bids. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities of this position.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Five Key Roles of the Estimator:</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing innovative, accurate estimates consistent with Fessler and Bowman’s costs</li>\n<li>Conducts a thorough and detailed project take-off, assembling all quantities, man hour requirements, etc.</li>\n<li>Solicits subcontractor and supplier pricing, reviewing prequalification requirements, and determining the best qualified subcontractors</li>\n<li>Identifies project-specific risk issues and the potential impact to Fessler and Bowman, as well as potential strategies to help mitigate those risks</li>\n<li>Reviews project plans and specifications and communicates with project stakeholders and internal resources to confirm the scope of the project</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developing the project plan, the project schedule and the proposal documents for all estimates</li>\n<li>Reviews estimates for other estimating team members</li>\n<li>Supports the determination of whether to pursue a project by participating in the “Go/No-Go” process on complex projects</li>\n<li>Creates complete project budgets once a project is being actively bid</li>\n<li>Assembles documentation and prepares client presentations for proposal submissions</li>\n<li>Other relevant duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Education, Experience &amp; Qualifications:</em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>\n<li>At least five (5) years of construction experience</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient in using Bid2Win estimating software or similar tool(s) </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Estimating medium-to-large commercial and industrial projects</li>\n<li>Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation</li>\n<li>Excellent communication and organizational skills</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Travel:</em></span></p>\n<p>Travel to and from job sites and office locations is required for this position. Fessler &amp; Bowman will compensate for travel when applicable.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Work Environment:</em></span></p>\n<p>As an Estimator, you will be subject to various work environments. These environments include office and field settings.
