    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p><strong>GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:</strong> The Practical Nursing Instructor is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring the fulfillment of educational goals and objectives. The instructor shall be directly responsible for selecting, teaching, guiding, and evaluating all learning experiences in the classroom and clinical facilities. All learning experiences and methods of instruction shall provide opportunity for fulfilling<br>the objectives of the practical nursing courses. These responsibilities require leadership in both academic and workforce areas and include meeting student retention goals; directing and participating in educational planning; monitoring student performance; motivating and advising students. The individual that serves as a Practical Nursing Instructor is a faculty member who serves as a liaison with the students and administration of Blue Cliff College.&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  </strong></p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Attend faculty meetings&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Selecting, teaching, guiding, and evaluating all learning experiences in the classroom and clinical facilities&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Teach classes assigned by the Director of Nursing&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Assign students to clinical sites&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Supervise and instruct students during clinical rotations and laboratory&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Carry out the policy and procedures set by Blue Cliff College&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Prepare requests for instructional materials, such as books, audiovisual aids and supplies for the annual budget and submit<br>them to the Director of Nursing&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Keep records of grades and attendance of students and submit them to the Registrar as required&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Be on campus or at assigned workstation each class day&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Establish and post office hours and makeup time schedule and provide a copy to Director of Nursing&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Serve as directed on such faculty committees as may be established&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Be available to serve as consultant or adviser to students or prospective students&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Be available to assist with student registration and orientation functions&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Participate in ongoing student assessment activities and participate in student problem-solving activities in collaboration with the Director of Nursing&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Assist in the recruitment, admissions, withdrawal, and graduation of students&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Assist the Director of Nursing in the construction, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the Practical Nursing Program curriculum&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Conduct orientation of students to each clinical site and assure appropriate student clinical assignments and learning opportunities for all students&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Attend and participate in professional meetings, conferences, workshops, courses, and ongoing development of clinical expertise&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Attend meetings of the Practical Nursing Faculty and Program Advisory Committee, and serve on committees of either as appointed<br>or elected&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Director of Education or Campus Director&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: </strong></p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Shall hold a current, valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Louisiana&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Shall be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of three years of experience&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> At least one of these three years must have been as a medical-surgical hospital staff nurse providing direct patient care.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Must have practiced as a nurse for a minimum of six full-time months during the three years immediately preceding application.&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Shall be approved by LSBPNE and ACCSC&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\">·</span> Current certification in CPR/First Aid&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>KNOWLEDGE:  </strong></p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The individual should preferably have experience in college-level teaching, be an excellent communicator, have superior interpersonal skills, be<br>an innovative, problem-solving thinker, and have demonstrated potential for leadership.&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><strong>SKILLS: </strong></p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span
