We help drive innovation for our parent company, Hutchinson who are a global supplier to the automotive, aerospace, defense, and industrial markets.&nbsp;Midé’s&nbsp;R&amp;D will help Hutchinson work towards vehicle electrification and&nbsp;distributed industrial sensing, especially industrial internet of things (IIoT) solutions.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>\n We have a diverse set of projects ranging from innovative uses of smart materials to data acquisition and signal analysis software. We are a great place to learn, as well as a place that rewards people who have&nbsp;drive&nbsp;and their own ideas.&nbsp;Midé&nbsp;has a small company feel with about 60 people working out of our Woburn office, including over 20 engineers divided between software, electrical, mechanical, and aerospace.&nbsp;Midé&nbsp;has successfully transitioned&nbsp;a number of&nbsp;its R&amp;D programs to successful product lines ranging from wireless data loggers to critical safety seals used on US Navy ships.&nbsp;<br>\n &nbsp;<br>\n NOTE:&nbsp;Midé&nbsp;conducts a significant amount of work for the Department of Defense, and this position may require participation in defense work.&nbsp;<br>\n &nbsp;<br>\n EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>BSE (EE, ECE, CS, or similar) required&nbsp;</li>\n <li>6+ years firmware or embedded software experience required&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br>\n REQUIREMENTS&nbsp;<br>\n Candidates must have:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a US person (citizen or permanent resident)&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Software design and architecture experience. C is highly preferred, C++ and similar languages are also acceptable&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Interest in project management&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience with microcontrollers and direct access to peripherals. ARM Cortex M-series processors (i.e.&nbsp;STM32, EFM32, etc.) are highly preferred&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience working on devices without an operating system and interfacing with peripherals directly</li>\n <li>Ability to read schematics, circuit diagrams, and PCB layouts</li>\n <li>Expert debugging skills using SWD/JTAG, protocol/logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes</li>\n <li>Effective verbal and written communication skills&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<br>\n HIGHLY PREFERRED&nbsp;<br>\n The following areas are important and will be used in this position’s projects over the next year. The ideal candidate will have experience in these areas, but we will not reject applicants for lack of experience in these areas:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with STM32 microcontrollers</li>\n <li>Wi-Fi /&nbsp;lwIP&nbsp;networking in low-power and embedded contexts like the ESP32 platform</li>\n <li>Some familiarity with IoT and Cloud (particularly Azure) systems, including MQTT, IoT Edge, and cloud fundamentals&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Embedded multitasking operating systems like&nbsp;FreeRTOS&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Implementing serial protocols such as I2C and SPI&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Effective use of DMA engines, clock management, and sleep states</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Python&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience with Git, GitHub, and the GitFlow process including pull requests, code reviews, and branches</li>\n <li>Some project management experience, particularly managing cross functional teams&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Personnel management and mentorship abilities, although will not be a manager immediately&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Experience with translating highlevel product needs into detailed firmware requirements and architectural specifications&nbsp;<br><br>\n  &nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0.5in\">PREFERRED SKILLS&nbsp;<br>\n The following areas represent where the candidate could grow over the long term.
