Every day, you will be creating special moments for our patients.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px\">The Opportunity (Role Summary)</span></span></p>\n<p><span>The Lab Technician is responsible for performing blood sample collection, process on lab machine, ensure proper patient ID and labelling, determine appropriate drawing method, maintain accurate records, organize documents, receive training in Andrology, maintain a clean work station, follow infection control standards, and fulfil assigned duties. You are expected to be courteous, and sympathetic when it comes to working with patients and dealing with them.</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Collect blood samples from patients.</span></li>\n<li><span>Process the sample on Laboratory machine as guidelines.</span></li>\n<li><span>Practice proper patient identification, labeling vials properly.</span></li>\n<li><span>Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient.</span></li>\n<li><span>Keep accurate records on fluid specimens and tests.</span></li>\n<li><span>Collects and organizes documents as required.</span></li>\n<li><span>To be trained on Andrology (Semen analysis, sperm wash.etc.).</span></li>\n<li><span>Keep the phlebotomy cart and station well-organized at all times.</span></li>\n<li><span>Practice infection control standards while working with patients and equipment at all times.</span></li>\n<li><span>Other duties, as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Required Qualifications</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent</span></li>\n<li><span>Medical laboratory technologist with CSMLS certification </span></li>\n<li><span>Current registration with CMLTO in good standing</span></li>\n<li>Minimum of 1 year of Laboratory experience specific to phlebotomy techniques</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Competencies</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Teamwork</span></li>\n<li><span>Attention to detail</span></li>\n<li><span>Leadership including leading innovation, energizing and developing people, delivering outstanding results </span></li>\n<li><span>Integrity, accountability, and highly organized </span></li>\n<li><span>Analytical skills to resolve problems and think creatively </span></li>\n<li><span>Verbal and written communication skills </span></li>\n<li><span>Organizational skills to prioritize and plan work, multi-task, and meet schedules </span></li>\n<li><span>Adaptable and flexible; able to think quickly in challenging situations</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Specialized skills, knowledge, or certifications unique to this role</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Experience with effective puncture techniques</span></li>\n<li><span>Understanding of proper patient identification methods</span></li>\n<li><span>Knowledge of legal requirements about drawing blood, handling fluid samples and use of relevant medical equipment and material</span></li>\n<li><span>Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work safely and accurately, follow directives from assigned Director of Operations, and complete assigned tasks promptly</span></li>\n<li><span>Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and adjust to varying work assignments as needed, or independently, as required</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Status:</span> This is an existing vacancy. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">The responsibilities shall be defined and modified from time to time based on the requirements of the company.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px\">CHARM Group is an equal-opportunity employer that is committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace.
