Description JOB SUMMARY The Leadership Development Manager is a full-time position, serving girls and volunteers by providing support to ensure effective delivery of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). The Leadership Development Manager is a member of the Mission Delivery team, which is responsible for girl and volunteer support. The primary focus of this position is support and retention of girls in kindergarten – 5th grades. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support and retain adult volunteers and girl members by developing and delivering focused programs in the GSLE through high awards, entrepreneurship, and life skills to girls across the Council. Planning and executing program experiences and events that support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Work with girls, parents, troops leaders and program partners to develop and implement programming experiences for K-5 girls – experiences that are hands-on, cooperative learning-oriented, and girl-led. Assist in achieving the Council’s membership and retention goals for girls by development, coordination, and delivery of in-person and virtual experiences for girls, from single events to ongoing series or troop-like experiences. Adapt in-person curriculum for effective, impactful online delivery when necessary. Collaborate with camp and membership teams to meet the full range of programming needs for girls K-5 th . Collaborate with Fund Development team in developing proposals, executing programming, and manage grant funding for grant-funded programs. Ensure timely program and financial reporting for all grant-funded initiatives. Support Bronze process for 4 th – 5 th Girl Scouts pursing the Highest Award for their age-level. Work with 6 th – 12 th girl experience team to develop and execute transition strategy for girls going from 5th grade into older girl programming, resulting in higher retention of girls going from 5th to 6th grade. Work collaboratively with Girl Experience team leads to coordinate K-5 experiences at: STEM Expo, GS Con, etc. Document programming work to demonstrate progress toward accomplishment of program objectives, including accurate record keeping (program and evaluation data; financial records) Work with cross-functional team to determine or develop innovative strategies to ensure the effective support of troop leaders and program-grade levels within service units. Collaborate with Outcomes Manager to measure outcomes for programming and ensure that programming results in meaningful outcomes for girls. Collaborate with Volunteer Development team to develop resources and tools for volunteer troop leaders who are responsible for most direct delivery of programming to K-5 th girls. Extend Girl Scouting to the community through presentations, networking and relationship building with key community stakeholders. Cultivate relationships with appropriate community leaders, organizations, and businesses to develop program partnerships to meet the needs and interests of girls, support retention efforts, and ultimately achieve positive outcomes for girls in the program Optimize use of technology to support customer service for volunteers; answers, problem solves, manages and responds to call center requests. Act as an ambassador to promote the visibility of the Girl Scout organization including wearing a uniform when appropriate or on council business. Subject matter expert for K-5 th programming Direct delivery of program as needed. Other duties as assigned Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Bachelor’s degree 4+ years of experience working in youth development Ability to commit to the organizational goals of the Council Must be Microsoft proficient Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with girls, staff, volunteers, and parents in a positive, professional manner Ability to work well with people, network with volunteers and employees Able to work cooperatively as a team member with staff and volunteers Ability to manage a multi-project workload in multiple locations, exercise initiative, and meet deadlines The ability to identify challenges and actively work to find solutions Current Georgia driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to manage a budget that supports council goals that includes ongoing reporting and analysis of program participation, revenue, and expense Strong technology skills in Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new technology skills quickly using training resources and on-the-job learning. PREFERRED SKILLS Experience in working with elementary school aged girls. The ability to work effectively with others at all levels of a school and to consistently display a high level of professionalism in all interactions Project coordination and experience in effectively organizing and managing multiple projects, especially in collaborating with marketing. Strong and effective large group/small group presentation and management skills Excellent event planning, organizational and time-management skills – including large events (500+) Initiative to identify challenges and actively work to find solutions. Experience in collaborating with diverse groups of people such as volunteers, staff, community organizations and individuals and the willingness to delegate. Knowledge of Girl Scout organization and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience or the willingness to learn. Able to speak effectively before individuals and groups and proactively communicate the value of the GSLE and Leadership Experiences to both internal and external audiences. Able to network and cultivate community partnerships WORKING CONDITIONS Willingness or ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends. Willingness to attend staff, team and department meetings PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Requires the physical mobility to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time. The primary focus of this position is support and retention of girls in kindergarten – 5th grades. \\n\\n \\n\\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES \\n\\n\\n\\tSupport and retain adult volunteers and girl members by developing and delivering focused programs in the GSLE through high awards, entrepreneurship, and life skills to girls across the Council.\\n\\tPlanning and executing program experiences and events that support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. Work with girls, parents, troops leaders and program partners to develop and implement programming experiences for K-5 girls – experiences that are hands-on, cooperative learning-oriented, and girl-led.\\n\\tAssist in achieving the Council’s membership and retention goals for girls by development, coordination, and delivery of in-person and virtual experiences for girls, from single events to ongoing series or troop-like experiences. Adapt in-person curriculum for effective, impactful online delivery when necessary.\\n\\tCollaborate with camp and membership teams to meet the full range of programming needs for girls K-5th.\\n\\tCollaborate with Fund Development team in developing proposals, executing programming, and manage grant funding for grant-funded programs.
