Texas Panhandle Centers is hiring for Caregivers is responsible for supporting our clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily activities. No prior experience is required, making it an ideal entry-level position for those with a caring nature and a desire to help others. Employment will be either PRN (as needed) or part-time, depending on your availability, with opportunities to be a full-time staff member. Position: PRN or Part-Time Caregiver Location: Amarillo or Pampa, Texas Salary: $17.50/hr. Shifts: * Willing to work with your schedule* At Texas Panhandle Centers (TPC), you’ll be part of a caring team dedicated to making lives better for over 10,000 individuals and families each year across the Texas Panhandle. As a non-profit, TPC provides a wide range of services from mental health and substance use support to intellectual and developmental disability care, empowering clients of all ages to achieve dignity and independence. With seven service centers located throughout the region, our staff work together with our clients to achieve our mission to create an accessible system of care that supports individual choice and truly make a difference. We invite you to join us in our vision of “Making Lives Better!” Essential duties and responsibilities of the Caregiver: Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language The Caregiver performs direct care for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting The Caregiver is responsible for training, transporting, cooking, feeding, bathing, toileting, and other duties associated with daily living Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised Required qualifications of the Caregiver to be successful in the job: No experience required Either a high school diploma; or GED; or three written professional letters of recommendation and the completion of competency tests One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) Employees may be required to utilize their personal mobile phones for two-factor authentication (2FA).
