    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>CVP is seeking PRN-Medical Records Technicians to provide back up coverage for our team at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. This position will work collaboratively with the CDI Nursing Advisor to ensure clinical documentation integrity for both inpatient and outpatient services. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Review and analyze health records to identify documentation improvement opportunities in both inpatient and outpatient settings</li>\n <li>Generate and communicate queries to healthcare providers to clarify clinical documentation</li>\n <li>Develop the facility's CDI management program encompassing both inpatient and outpatient billable and non-billable services</li>\n <li>Focus on inpatient cases (patient treatment files/PTFs) and outpatient abstracts</li>\n <li>Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflow processes, and templates consistent with current standards</li>\n <li>Implement an improvement plan focused on updating problem lists or Scientific Nomenclature of Medicine – Clinical Terminologies (SNOMED-CT) consistent with ICD-10 CM code sets</li>\n <li>Participate in reconciliation activities to review discrepancies in code or MS-DRG assignments</li>\n <li>Conduct program evaluation and performance improvement activities</li>\n <li>Monitor and report on key CDI metrics, including query rates, response rates, and impact measures</li>\n <li>Generate and deliver periodic reports (weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly) as required</li>\n <li>Participate in collaborative meetings with healthcare teams and administrators</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance</li>\n <li>Bachelor's degree </li>\n <li>Current certification from American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and/or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and/or Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS)</li>\n <li>Minimum of two years' experience as a Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding principles, and healthcare documentation standards</li>\n <li>Experience with electronic health record systems like VistA/CPRS preferred</li>\n <li>Understanding of MS-DRG assignment, coding guidelines, and clinical documentation requirements</li>\n <li>Familiarity with The Joint Commission, CMS regulations, and VHA directives related to health information management</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Clinic Hours:</strong> Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-4:00 pm</p>\n<p><strong>Contract:</strong> 10/1/2025 - 9/30/2027 </p>\n<p><strong>Pay Rate:</strong> $32/hr</p>\n<p><strong>H&W Benefits</strong>: $5.09/hr (Can opt for cash in lieu of benefits)</p>\n<p><strong>Location:</strong> Lt.
