The facility offers a full complement of services, including emergency care, cardiovascular care, bariatrics, orthopedics and rehabilitation, and surgical services. It also is one of the largest providers of psychiatric care in the state. The hospital has earned Primary Stroke Center certification from The Joint Commission, and its bariatric program has been accredited as a Comprehensive Center by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). The Women’s Medical Center provides comprehensive women’s services through all stages of life, including gynecologic surgery, maternity care, and labor and delivery services. Our Orthopedic Spine Unit is a fast-paced, highly rewarding environment focused on helping patients regain mobility and strength after spine and orthopedic surgeries. You'll work alongside a dedicated, collaborative team of professionals who value clinical excellence, teamwork, and compassionate care.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination and nutritional needs. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe, clean, neat, and organized patient environment. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Assures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Follows standard precautions, always washes hands between patients.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rates, food and fluid intake and output as directed. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Obtains data and accurately documents pertinent patient information according to Baptist Health and Orlando Health specific policies and guidelines. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Recognizes and communicates appropriate information and safety concerns regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and or other members of the healthcare team. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Participates in handoff report and purposeful hourly rounding of patients.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides exceptional service and or care to all patients, families, customers and team members.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills as defined by Baptist Health and Orlando Health and unit specific competencies. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains a clean, neat, safe and organized nursing unit.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Receives and processes incoming phone calls, patient call lights and guest requests. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Transports and delivers items, equipment, blood products, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>May have limited access to areas storing medications. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health and Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health and Orlando Health policies and procedures.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Enthusiastically supports and participates in planned changes.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Participates in nursing Performance Improvement activities as assigned.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Consistently utilizes time and resources effectively and efficiently. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Attends hospital, unit staff meetings and in-services according to policy.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Completes all mandatory training. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care based on principles of growth and development over the life span.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education/Training</strong>: High school graduate or equivalent. </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure/Certification</strong>: Must obtain BLS/Healthcare Provider certification within 30 days of hire. </p>\n<p>Experience: None </p>",
