It’s a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position$35.00-$37/hour (depending on experience) paid on a bi-weekly basis. Overtime compensation is based on the current BC Employment Standards Act (1.5 times the regular wage paid if the daily hours exceed 8 hours or the weekly hours exceed 40 hours).</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">We offer an employee benefit plan that includes health benefits available after 6 months with the company. Two weeks of paid vacation each year.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">We currently have two positions available.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Location of employment</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">: Vancouver Mainland</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Job duties:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plan to prepare landscape project layout and determine dimensions and materials required;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Construct decks, garden walls, walkways, stairs, fountains and waterfalls, retaining walls and BBQ stations;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Assemble and fasten material using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Measure, cut, or shape wood and other materials;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Install, repair, and/or renovate structures and fixtures using carpenter's hand and power tools;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Instruct and direct labourers and any construction helpers;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Complete daily paperwork tracking job time and material costs;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsible for hardscape and softscape landscape construction.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Requirements:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must have completed high school;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving history;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must have at least two years of work experience as a Carpenter or a combination of experience and education/training;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Manual dexterity is a must; </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">The position is physically demanding;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be able to work under minimum supervision;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must have an attention to details;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be able to work under pressure of tight deadlines; at heights, in confined, noisy, and/or dusty spaces;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be able to handle heavy loads</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must have excellent problem solving, decision making, job task planning and organizing skills;</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Must be able to speak, read and write in English.</span></li>\n</ul>",
