Nicholson is part of a global network of unparalleled geotechnical resources and expertise, specializing in deep foundations, earth retention, ground treatment and ground improvement.</p><p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 10px;\"><strong style=\"box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;\">Summary:</strong></p><ul style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px;\"><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">This position will require travel to all job site locations, located nationally. &nbsp;Position will be based out of our Central Division in Kalamazoo, MI.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Maintain, diagnose and repair diesel / hydraulic construction equipment. &nbsp;Assemble/disassemble large construction equipment on remote job sites.</li></ul><p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 10px;\"><strong style=\"box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;\">Essential Functions:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px;\"><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Drive and operate a 25,000lb mechanic&rsquo;s truck equipped with crane, welder, and compressor. Extended travel is required.</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Repair, modify, and set-up construction equipment to meet project requirements through an understanding of diesel and hydraulic mechanics, as well as on-site fabrication.</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Work with site superintendents, field forces, and other technicians to maintain, repair, rebuild and troubleshoot a wide variety of drills, cranes, pumps and other construction equipment, in a work site environment.</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Inspects, monitors, and performs maintenance on the job site equipment to head off potential problems and reports results and observations to the Equipment Manager.</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Keeps meticulous records of work performed and problems encountered using provided iPad and computer.</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px 0px 10px;\"><strong style=\"box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: 700;\">Requirements:</strong></p><ul style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px;\"><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">High School diploma or GED along with at least 4 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic is required.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Must have extensive knowledge of diesel and hydraulic mechanics.</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Ability to take direction but also to work independently</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\">Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools.</li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box; padding-left: 6px; line-height: 20px;\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; line-height: 1.6;\">Rational decision-making ability, attention to detail, makes final decisions and assumes accountability for them; demonstrates the ability to separate the people from the problem or situation, ability to learn quickly and take on new responsibility as needed.</span></li><li style=\"box-sizing: border-box;
