    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_editor.pkgd.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"><strong>&nbsp;WAGE: NEGOTIABLE</strong><link href=\"https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/css/froala_style.min.css\" rel=\"stylesheet\" type=\"text/css\"><div class=\"fr-view\"><p><strong><u>Purpose of this position</u></strong></p><p><em>Provide direct care to residents, and administer medication under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with facility policies and procedures and report resident needs and concerns to a licensed nurse. &nbsp;</em></p><p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></p><ol><li>Successfully complete the basic Nursing Assistant course and competency evaluation program by the State of Nebraska and on the Nursing Assistant Registry.</li><li>Successfully completed the 40-hour Medication Aide Course approved by the State of Nebraska, and on the registry as a Medication Aide Nursing Home.&nbsp;</li><li>Competent to provide nursing related services.</li><li>Maintain a minimum of 12 hours of in-services per year as mandatory by facility and Nebraska State regulations (6 every 6 months). Complete training on topics of medication and/or medication administration.</li><li>Must be at least sixteen (18) years of age.</li><li>Cannot have been convicted of any crime related to any services to be provided under this job description, including, but not limited to moral turpitude, assault or violence.</li><li>Must be able to speak and understand the English language or a language understood by a substantial portion of the facility&rsquo;s residents.</li><li>Physical ability to perform job-related duties, which may require lifting up to 50lbs, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing and pulling.</li><li>Possess personal qualities making it possible to maintain good interpersonal relationships. Ex: respect for each person as an individual, kindness, and loyalty.</li><li>Must have basic computer skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Competency testing will be administered yearly to prove the Medication Aide knows and can perform the skills necessary to function.</li><li>Demonstrate continued competency in medication provisions, according to the facility and State of Nebraska guidelines.</li><li>Must be able to work at any Northfield Retirement Communities Long Term Care, or Assisted Living facility as assigned.</li></ol><p><strong><u>Responsibilities</u></strong> &ndash; <em>Assists patients in the following areas:</em></p><p><br></p><ol><li>Personal care functions including:<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha;\"><li>Bathing (bed, tub, shower or sponge bath)</li><li>Skin Care</li><li>Toileting (bedpan, urinal, commode and/or toilet)</li><li>Grooming (shampoo, nail care and shaving)</li><li>Oral hygiene (denture care)</li><li>Assist with Dressing and undressing</li></ol></li><li>Assists with feeding of residents and distribution of meal trays.</li><li>Measuring and recording intake and output.</li><li>Weigh residents using upright, chair and bed scale, report changes within 3 lbs to charge nurse.</li><li>Assists in turning and positioning of residents.</li><li>Proper transfer techniques.</li><li>Demonstrates appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment (cane, crutches, walkers, Hoyer Lift, side rails, brace, and splints)</li><li>Follow Established standards of medication aide practices related to medication administration.</li><li>Obtain report from nurse being relieved and follow through with recorded medication changes.</li><li>Administer medications to residents in an accurate, timely manner.</li><li>Document on residents for effectiveness of all drug therapy and occurrence of adverse effects and report to Charge Nurse any changes.</li><li>Verify accuracy of narcotic count and exchange keys.</li><li>Follow procedures for ordering medications, receive and store medications accurately and appropriately.</li><li>Helps keep resident&rsquo;s rooms clean and supplied.</li><li>Assists with admission and discharge of patients as directed.</li><li>Ensures a safe, clean environment for residents and co-workers. &nbsp;Initiate corrective action.</li><li>Performs nursing tasks as directed (vital signs, collection of specimens, etc.)</li><li>Provides for proper and safe care of patient&rsquo;s clothing and valuables.</li><li>Promptly reports all changes in resident&rsquo;s condition, including skin integrity, to supervising nurse.</li><li>Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.</li><li>Properly documents intake and output of resident&rsquo;s condition and all care provided according to the facilities policy and procedures.</li><li>Answer call lights and make rounds at minimum of every 2 hours unless otherwise stated.</li><li>Complete assignments timely and accurately.</li><li>Listen to resident and family complaints and report problems to Charge Nurse.</li><li>Follow resident care plans and assignment sheets accurately.</li><li>Consistently work cooperatively with residents, charge nurses, restorative, nursing assistants, other medication aides, physicians, families, consultant personnel, ancillary service providers and all other departments and team members.</li><li>Come to work in a neat, clean uniform with nametag and gait belt and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.</li><li>Come to work as scheduled and demonstrate dependability and punctuality.</li><li>Assume accountability for data contained in the employees&rsquo; handbook.</li><li>Observe infection control procedures.</li><li>Follow Resident&rsquo;s Rights policies.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ol></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n<br/>Variety of shift available, flexible scheduling possible.<br/>Evenings and Days.  6 am - 2 pm and 2 pm - 10 pm.<br/>Nights for Assisted Living  10:00 pm to 6:00 am",
