SAIT Summer Camps (SSC) is looking is looking for energetic Camp Leaders for the 2026 camp season. If you are passionate about working with children and youth, love to have fun, and have knowledge in any of the following camp themes, we encourage you to apply.

Please indicate in your cover letter which camp themes you have experience with in an educational, professional, or personal capacity. Camp participants range from Grades 1 - 12.
Throughout the duration of summer camps (June through August) this role will require working on-campus Monday through Friday inclusive. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the camp leader contract, including training week (June 22 – 26, 2026) and the camp season (June 29 – August 14, 2026).
Note: all applicants must complete a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search if hired.

How you'll contribute
Supervision and Safety of Participants Ensure the safety, well-being and enjoyment of campers from grades 1-12. Supervise campers during before-care, after-care, lunch time and field trips. Assess and manage risk within delivering programs and while supervising. React and adapt quickly to emergency situations involving children and youth. Display a strong ability to manage stressful situations calmly and effectively. Consistently follow program policies and procedures with campers.
Delivering Lessons Plan, lead and modify program lessons and activities. Set-up and clean-up program areas on a daily basis. Make accommodations for campers with varying learning needs. Work collaboratively with co-leaders/instructors to set-up and deliver programs.
Leading Children and Youth Mediate conflict amongst participants with integrity and consistency. Demonstrate and role model appropriate behaviours for children and youth. Participate in recreation activities with campers.
Communicating and Reporting Communicate professionally with parents/guardians about their child’s experience at camp. Implement and use strength-based language when communicating with campers. Document and inform administration staff of any incidents within programs.
What you bring
Must be 18 years of age or older. Minimum of 1-year experience working with children and youth. Minimum of 1-year working in a customer service environment. Experience working with children and youth in camp or day program environment is preferred. Enrolled in a post-secondary program related to camp program areas, education, social work, child care/child development, or recreation is preferred. Valid Standard First Aid/CPR - Level C certification. Completion of Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and driven. Punctual and able to adapt to a changing schedule is a must. Throughout the duration of summer camps (June through August) this role will require working on-campus Monday through Friday inclusive. Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the camp leader contract, including training week (June 22 – 26, 2026) and the camp season (June 29 – August 14, 2026). Availability for scheduled shifts between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm (no weekend work is required. SAIT is closed on all statutory holidays.)
