In this role, you will provide high quality swim instruction to children of various skill levels and ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. Ideal candidates are passionate about working with kids, have strong swimming skills, and can create a positive and supportive learning atmosphere. If you love the water and enjoy making a difference in children’s lives, you might be a great addition to our team!</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em>Please note: Wave is currently hiring for swim instructors to train with us in July and begin regular shifts in August. Hiring preference will be given to those candidates who can continue with Wave beyond the summer. </em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Wave Swim School Lessons:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Educate and instruct swimmers of all ages and abilities in water safety, stroke techniques, and swimming fundamentals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Develop lesson plans tailored to the skill levels of the student.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Provide high quality, constructive feedback on swimmers’ stroke techniques skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Communicate effectively with the Deck Manager/Head Guard and parents on student progress in person and on internal student progress tracking software.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Set up and tear down swim lesson supplies to maintain a clean and organized pool area.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, following emergency action plans. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Facility Maintenance/Safety:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Enforce pool rules and regulations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ensure a safe and supportive environment by enforcing pool rules and monitoring swimmers closely.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Perform daily checks and report damages to swim lesson equipment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Respond to emergency situations per the emergency action plan.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be at least 16 years of age.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">High School Diploma (in progress ok).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to respond and operationalize emergency action plans in case of emergency.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Compensation: </span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">$18.50-$20.00/hour</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Possible Schedule/Work Hours: </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Year round: </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 5-9pm </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Saturdays and Sundays 7:30am-1:45pm </span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Summer only: </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 12:30pm (instructors commit to working a full 5 day week for summer lessons) </span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Please indicate on your application whether you are interested in a summer only position or whether you're looking for year-round employment. </span></p>",
