This is an entry level position with varied responsibilities, including, but not limited to, the maintenance of the airport&#39;s Baggage Handling Systems (BHS).</p><p><strong>Benefits and Perks You&rsquo;ll Appreciate:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Ongoing career development and training opportunities</li><li>Collaborate with a team in a dynamic environment</li><li>Comprehensive health benefits</li><li>Wellness Program</li><li>Paid Time Off</li><li>Paid Holidays</li><li>Employee Assistance Program</li><li>Retirement Savings Plan with Company Match</li><li>Education and Tuition Assistance Program</li><li>Employee Discounts</li><li>Uniform/Footwear Program</li></ul><p><strong>Compensation:</strong></p><p>Hourly Compensation: Starting at $24.00 (Dependent on Experience)<br>&nbsp;<br><strong>Responsibilities:</strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Work with a variety of tools/hand tools safely and properly, as well as utilize any/all appropriate safety and personal protective equipment (PPE)</li><li>Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks, which will include, but not be limited to, cleaning of conveyor and surrounding areas, removal of debris from between conveyors. removal and replacement of conveyor cover for inspection and cleaning, and the recognition of potential issues through audio and visual inspection</li><li>Diagnosing equipment failures under the guidance of senior staff</li><li>Make minor adjustments to ensure system functionality and reliability pertaining to both electrical and mechanical items</li><li>Clear and reset baggage handling system jams in a safe and efficient manner</li><li>Take temperature and speed readings of components and belting</li><li>Perform full replacement and adjustment of components, including but not limited to: bearings, motors, reducers, belts (replacement and repair), belts (tensioning and tracking), photoelectric cells, and pushbuttons</li><li>Perform repair and troubleshooting of electrical components (MCP&rsquo;s, local functional electrical switch boxes, VFD&rsquo;s, ATR&rsquo;s, belt shaft encoders, general wiring),</li><li>Work safely in a variety of locations that may include moving equipment and electricity, as well as small spaces, high spaces, dirty spaces, and/or hot spaces,</li><li>Attend requested/required training, demonstrating a willingness to learn</li><li>Follow and comply with any company and/or federally established policies and procedures</li><li>Safety and Compliance Training as Required.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)</li><li>Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English</li><li>Must be able to read and interpret repair manuals and basic mechanical schematics</li><li>Must have at least three (3) years of mechanical work experience</li><li>Must have at least one (1) year of basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience</li><li>Must be able to undergo a 10-year background check and be able to obtain/maintain security clearance</li><li>Must possess a valid drivers&#39; license (with a clean driving record)</li><li>Must be able to work independently</li><li>Must be able to work as scheduled (this is a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation) . . .all shift assignments will include working on holidays that fall on scheduled workdays.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong>&nbsp;</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time</li><li>Able to sit, stand, push, pull, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, or crawl on a frequent basis</li><li>Able to frequently lift/move items that may range in weight up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds</li><li>Able to withstand exposure to hot, cold, wet, or other weather-related conditions</li></ul><p>The applicant must be able to successfully pass a drug screen (we promote/maintain a Drug Free Workplace), a driver&#39;s license check, a background check, and required federal fingerprinting, security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging, for continued employment.</p><p><strong>Affirmative Action, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion &amp; Equal Employment Opportunity at JSM:</strong></p><p>At JSM, we recognize that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is Good for Business.</p><p>Our goal is to attract good job candidates, retain our best employees, and create a more engaged and productive workforce. &nbsp;We want all our team members to feel safe, valued, respected, and involved in their roles at JSM.
