    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">FlexStaff is seeking a Cost Accountant for our client, a manufacturer of products for the aerospace and defense industry.</p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">This is a permanent, direct hire, full-time position on-site at their location in Melville.<span>&nbsp;</span></p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">The Cost Accountant will assist the Controller in providing support to several manufacturing sites in areas relating to variance analysis, work order management, inventory, process improvement and several other cost-related topics.</p><p>Responsibilities</p><ul type=\"disc\" style=\"direction: ltr; list-style-type: disc; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0in; unicode-bidi: embed;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Adherence to the monthly, quarterly and yearly close process and timeline.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Reviewing/updating entries to the general ledger.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Account reconciliation and analysis related to inventory reconciliation and cost of goods sold accounts.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Ensuring the accuracy and reconciliation of the project cost ledger to the balance sheet, including the accuracy of materials, labor, other direct cost, and associated indirect cost.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Completing the Excess &amp; Obsolete process on a quarterly basis.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Working closely with Business Management, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&amp;A), Program Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to provide cost accounting support and resolve issues on cost and inventory.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Coordinating period-end close processes.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Providing analysis and reporting for labor productivity and manufacturing variances.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Developing tracking reports and analytics to help identify opportunities.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Development and monitoring plant metrics</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Streamlining processes and realizing efficiency gains</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Supporting Supply Chain initiatives related to product costing</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Assisting in the development and implementation of training programs.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Qualifications</p><ul type=\"disc\" style=\"direction: ltr; list-style-type: disc; margin-bottom: 0in; margin-top: 0in; unicode-bidi: embed;\"><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience required with at least 4 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing company.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Strong Excel skills are required.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Effective written and verbal communication skills.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes is highly desirable.</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Understanding of Project Accounting</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Experience with ERP systems, preferably Costpoint</li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; vertical-align: middle;\">Project costing in a government contracting environment and familiarity with government contract accounting compliance requirements (e.g. FAR, CAS) is strongly desired.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (e.g. Green Card holder), or a protected individual as defined by the International Traffic in Arm Regulations (ITAR).</p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">*Additional Salary Detail</p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in;\">The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
