    "description": "<h2>Salary Details</h2>The salary range for this position is CAD $40.19/Hr. - CAD $50.20/Hr.\n<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Come work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) at Vancouver General Hospital!</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the department across the Lower Mainland Medical Imaging (LMMI) health authorities (Fraser Health, Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services and Vancouver Coastal Health).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Position performs additional procedures/techniques and related duties within Nuclear Medicine such as radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and special cell labelling for lower mainland hospitals. Duties include preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals for shipping, labelling cells using sterile techniques, instructing manufacturing and cell labeling techniques to staff, operating nuclear medicine laboratory equipment, performing routine quality control tests on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals, monitoring radioactive storage areas utilizing appropriate detection devices and disposing of radioactive substances and contaminated items by following established guidelines.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Certification with the CAMRT (Nuclear Medicine).</li>\n <li>Two years' recent, related experience in radioisotope imaging and radiopharmacy dispensing or an equivalent of education, training and experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge of theory and practice of radiopharmacy dispensing and radiation safety practices.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability of aseptic techniques.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge and practice of safe work procedures with nuclear medicine laboratory equipment.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP).</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge of radiopharmacy equipment and computer applications.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge of Bio Rx applications.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge of CNSC, WCB, and TDG regulations.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge of research processes and methodology.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to perform radioisotope laboratory examinations in compliance with departmental standards.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to instruct personnel and students.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.</li>\n <li>General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.</li>\n <li>Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to operate a computerized patient care/radiopharmacy information system.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Closing Statement</h2>\n<p>The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
