This exciting ownership positions us for continued impacts and growth in the future.</p>\n<h2>Essential Functions & Responsibilities </h2>\n<p><strong>Laboratory Technician  </strong><strong></strong>As a Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for performing laboratory testing to provide reliable and analytical services to Operations and customers in a timely manner.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times</li>\n <li>Completes material analysis to determine characteristics and waste profiles </li>\n <li>Makes determination of pH, screens for oxidizers, peroxides, cyanides, and sulfides, and identifies fuel and water compatibilities</li>\n <li>Determines heat of combustion (BTU value), total halogens and completes water analysis (by Karl Fischer), percent solids and paint-filter liquids </li>\n <li>Utilizes Company Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)</li>\n <li>Performs compositing, packaging, organizing, and proper disposal of retain and other waste samples </li>\n <li>Stocks and organizes laboratory areas and storeroom with chemicals and laboratory supplies</li>\n <li>Performs instrument checks including refrigerators, balances, hoods, thermometers, and pipettes</li>\n <li>Utilizes and upholds good laboratory practices (e.g. QA/QC, documentation, maintenance/minor repairs, housekeeping, professionalism)</li>\n <li>Maintains ability to assist other laboratory shifts as needed </li>\n <li>Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education </h2>- High-school diploma or equivalent (required) - Associates / bachelor’s degree in a science related field (preferred)\n<h2>Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>2+ years of laboratory experience (required) -OR- </li>\n <li>In lieu of experience, an associates degree in a science related field (required) </li>\n <li>Environmental laboratory experience (preferred) </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits, Compensation & Workforce Diversity</h2>Arcwood offers competitive pay and bonus incentives.
