    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span>Professional Practice Director - Senior Director</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>Job Description</strong></span></p>\n<p><span>A Professional Practice Director (PPD), a part of the firm’s Audit Quality &amp; Risk group, functions as the first point of contact in Grant Thornton’s risk management function. In this role, a PPD has direct interaction with our service line professionals and client personnel, resolving difficult technical and other practice issues.</span></p>\n<p><span>&nbsp;<strong>Your day to day may include:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Monitoring of in-process audit engagements, including reading financial statements and workpapers on behalf of the National office</span></li>\n <li><span>Consulting on technical accounting and SEC compliance matters</span></li>\n <li><span>Acting as a resource for audit standards and related methodology questions</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintaining active communication with engagement teams and clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change efforts effectively</span></li>\n <li><span>Liaising between audit engagement teams and other firm professional practice resources</span></li>\n <li><span>Monitoring staffing and engagement turnover to facilitate quality execution</span></li>\n <li><span>Supporting engagement teams through internal and external inspections</span></li>\n <li><span>Presenting internal and external training sessions on relevant subject matter areas</span></li>\n <li><span>Teaming with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development calls, while understanding and managing firm risk on such proposals</span></li>\n <li><span>Managing, developing, training, and mentoring staff on projects and assess performance for periodic reviews</span></li>\n <li><span>Representing Grant Thornton at recruiting and professional networking events</span></li>\n <li><span>Adhering to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality</span></li>\n <li><span>Other duties as assigned</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>You have the following technical skills and qualifications:</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Bachelor’s degree in accounting</span></li>\n <li><span>Minimum of fifteen years of progressive audit experience (including experience working on audits of public companies, including related quality inspections), in a medium to large public accounting firm or equivalent, global network firm experience a plus</span></li>\n <li><span>Active CPA license (required)</span></li>\n <li><span>Excellent analytical and technical skills including proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS, SEC reporting, and PCAOB rules and standards</span></li>\n <li><span>Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities</span></li>\n <li><span>Value teamwork, are agile and know the power of building strong relationships</span></li>\n <li><span>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills</span></li>\n <li><span>Can travel as needed (Travel expectation: 25%)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>",
