Po sition Summary
The S enior Technical Sales & Program Manager or the Spare Parts Department handles planning, coordinating, and delivering initial/recommended spare parts projects and programs that ensure material availability, service continuity, and compliance with internal and customer requirements. The role manages the full project lifecycle—from needs assessment and technical definition through supply chain coordination, logistics, documentation control, and commissioning/hand-over of spare parts solutions.
Lead spare parts related projects, including spare parts strategy, replenishment programs, and new spare part introduction Manage end-to-end project delivery: scoping, schedule development, resource planning, risk management, execution, and closing Provide leadership and governance for high-value spare parts programs, ensuring effective execution through delegated operational teams while maintaining oversight of schedule, commercial performance, quality, and customer satisfaction metrics Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Service Operations, and Commercial functions to ensure alignment with corporate objectives, operational priorities, and customer commitments Maintain executive-level responsibility for the financial performance of assigned programs and accounts, including P&L oversight, forecasting, pricing governance, margin optimization, and strategic resource allocation Own budget tracking for spare parts projects (CAPEX/OPEX where applicable), including forecasting, cost control, and variance reporting Serve as the primary executive interface for strategic Tier-1 customer relationships across North America; oversee contract execution, commercial negotiations, escalation management, and long-term service agreement development Conduct regular stakeholder meetings (internal and customer-facing if required) and provide clear, prompt project communications Act as the senior liaison between the Italian Center of Excellence and North American operations to ensure alignment of technical standards, commercial strategy, operational execution, and organizational objectives Direct sourcing and supply chain strategies in coordination with global procurement and operational leadership to improve delivery performance, optimize cost structures, mitigate risk, and support long-term business growth Coordinate with supply chain and logistics to ensure timely sourcing, expediting, delivery tracking, customs documentation (where applicable), and warehouse readiness Define project requirements for spare parts items in coordination with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams Ensure spare parts technical conformity (drawings/specifications, BOMs, datasheets, test certificates, material traceability, and certifications) Manage technical clarification cycles with suppliers, ensuring alignment on specifications, interchangeability, and installation readiness Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and contractual obligations Support executive leadership in developing and executing multi-year strategic growth initiatives for the North American Spare Parts business, including installed base expansion, aftermarket penetration, and service business development Establish and oversee key business performance indicators, operational governance processes, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive commercial performance, operational efficiency, and customer retention Establish and monitor KPIs for spare parts availability, lead times, inventory, and project performance Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, optimize inventory levels, and improve project execution efficiency
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related technical field; Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s in Engineering Management highly preferred 10+ years of progressive leadership in spare parts, aftermarket operations, or program management, including 5+ years managing full P&L and strategic Tier-1 customer account Proven background in heavy machinery, industrial equipment, energy, automation, or manufacturing sectors. Technical & PM Skills: Deep understanding of engineering drawings, BOMs, technical conformity, global sourcing, and logistics; PMP certification preferred. Global & Communication Skills: Experience working within matrixed global organizations interfacing with European/Italian headquarters; professional English fluency required, Italian language proficiency is a plus. Ability with project planning tools and MS Office; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and document control practices is an advantage Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and deliver under cost and schedule constraints Strong analytical skills for inventory/lead time improvement and project performance tracking Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams Knowledge of inventory optimization principles (e.g., safety stock, reorder points, criticality-based spare
