    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"margin-left:0px\"><strong>CONSTRUCTION&nbsp;SERVICES&nbsp;PRACTICE</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0px\">Michael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers,&nbsp;estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0px\"><strong>What We’re Looking For:</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0px\">Michael Baker is seeking a <span>Construction Inspection Operations Manager who will be responsible for managing and growing the construction inspection group in PennDOT District 6-0, PennDOT District 5-0, the City of Philadelphia, DRPA, and surrounding regions.&nbsp; The primary focus will be on business development, quality control/quality assurance, staff utilization, staff recruiting, staff development, financial management, production/project oversight, and the safety of the team for the MBI Construction Inspection group. You will lead&nbsp;the Construction Inspection practice as a seller/doer while assigned as Project Manager or Construction Manager, as required. You will also direct&nbsp;a team of field personnel and support staff on a host of projects consisting of Roadway, Bridge, Rail and Transit, Water and Wastewater, and Construction Inspection projects.&nbsp;</span></p>\n<p><span>You will be responsible for developing and growing the team, as well as developing and maintaining positive client relations, including monitoring client satisfaction. The successful candidate will also possess&nbsp;deep experience with&nbsp;extensive knowledge of PennDOT policies and procedures.</span></p>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Directs and coordinates activities of the Department for attainment of office goals</span></li>\n <li><span>Responsible for developing and implementing strategic goals for the Construction Services practice and collaborating with office leadership</span></li>\n <li><span>Reviews and</span><span>&nbsp;</span><span>analyzes project staffing activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine the Department progress toward stated goals and objectives</span></li>\n <li><span>Responsible for the Departmental business development and marketing/teaming strategies including proposal technical writing</span></li>\n <li><span>Responsible for developing and monitoring the Department budget and staff utilization</span></li>\n <li><span>Manages recruitment activities including attracting and retaining top talent and facilitating on-boarding of new team members&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Provides leadership and direction by mentoring and motivating staff on issues such as training, performance feedback, technical guidance, financial management, and client relations</span></li>\n <li><span>Resolves personnel issues, such as marginal performance, policy interpretations, and succession planning</span></li>\n <li><span>Participates in internal and external professional development activities</span></li>\n <li><span>Lead Department compliance and adherence to quality management and quality assurance practices</span></li>\n <li><span>Maintains current knowledge regarding applicable regulatory, legal, industry practice and company/ client standards of procedure (SOPs)</span></li>\n <li><span>Manages and/or delivers projects on-time, safely, under budget, and of the utmost quality</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You Need to Succeed:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and/or related field</span></li>\n <li><span>15+ years of PennDOT Construction Inspection and/or Construction Management experience with highway construction and/or bridge construction</span></li>\n <li><span>PA Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or NICET level III/IV Highway Construction Inspection certification is required</span></li>\n <li><span>Prior Construction Management/Resident Engineering experience and positive working relationships with PennDOT or City of Philadelphia.</span></li>\n <li><span>Experience delivering&nbsp;large construction projects valued between $30 - $200M+</span></li>\n <li><span>Working knowledge of ECMS, MC-Docs, E-builder, Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, Adobe Pro, and Scheduling Platforms</span></li>\n</ul>\n<div>\n <div>\n  <div>\n   <p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>COMPENSATION</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n   <p style=\"margin-left:0px\">The approximate compensation range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000.
