About The O'Neill:
The National Medal of the Arts and two time Tony Award-winning Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is the country's preeminent organization dedicated to the development of new works and new voices for the stage.
From its 11-acre campus in Waterford, Connecticut, the O'Neill has been home to more than 1000 new works for the stage and thousands more emerging artists. O'Neill programs include the National Playwrights Conference, National Music Theater Conference, National Critics Institute, National Puppetry Conference, The Young Playwrights Festival, Cabaret & Performance Conference and the National Theater Institute, which offers six credit-earning undergraduate training programs.
The O'Neill is committed to diversifying the future of the American theater through the stories we tell, the artists telling those stories, the staff supporting our work, and the audiences in our theaters. Facilities Assistant
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Department: Facilities
Compensation: $18/hour
Dates: Early May- Mid August
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Respond to maintenance requests from staff, artists, and guests promptly and professionally.
Assist with landscaping and maintenance of the 11-acre O’Neill property, including: mowing and edging lawns, mulching, pruning bushes and gardens, etc.
Assist in routine upkeep of all interior and exterior spaces by performing preventative maintenance and repair. Knowledge in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry is ideal.
Perform daily general clean up of all areas as directed by gathering and emptying trash and service restrooms.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience
Qualified candidates will have some professional experience in facilities or maintenance. They will also be comfortable working with power tools, work in all weather conditions, stand for long periods of time, and be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must have the ability to work independently.
