This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in [industry or career path name].</p><p><i>Intertek's Industry Services delivers trusted and innovative global integrated solutions that ensure quality, safety and reliability in our customers' operations, supply chains and business processes.&nbsp;Intertek is continually innovating and evolving to reduce risk for consumers, brands and organizations in every sector and industry around the world.</i>&nbsp;<i>We go beyond Testing, Inspection and Certification of products: we are a Total Quality Assurance Provider to industries worldwide.</i>&nbsp;<i>Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.</i></p><p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p><p>The Ultrasonic Phased Array Technician will support field managers in executing advanced NDE projects, with a primary focus on phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) of critical components such as high energy piping, pressure vessels, boiler systems, and structural weldments.</p><p>Unlike typical NDE roles, this position involves direct collaboration with engineers and metallurgists, allowing inspection results to feed directly into advanced analysis, failure investigations, and asset life management strategies.</p><p>This position requires significant travel (50%+), including outages and field assignments across the United States and internationally. &nbsp;Projects are typically of short duration, so the technician will often be home on weekends and between projects. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information:</strong></p><p>In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Perform advanced NDE in accordance with established procedures and applicable codes (ASME Section V, B31.1, etc.), independently or as part of a team&nbsp;</li><li>Conduct PAUT inspections on high energy piping, pressure vessels, boiler components, and structural weldments&nbsp;</li><li>Set up, calibrate, and operate phased array ultrasonic equipment (e.g., OmniScan MX3 or equivalent)&nbsp;</li><li>Acquire and interpret PAUT data, including identification and characterization of indications and flaw sizing&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare clear, accurate, and defensible inspection reports for client and engineering evaluation&nbsp;</li><li>Work closely with engineers and metallurgists to support integrity assessments and failure investigations&nbsp;</li><li>Assist in development and continuous improvement of NDE procedures, techniques, and reporting methods&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain NDE equipment in a clean, organized, and calibrated condition&nbsp;</li><li>Adhere to a strong safety culture and comply with all site-specific safety requirements&nbsp;</li><li>Travel to job sites, outages, and Intertek offices as required&nbsp;</li><li>Perform additional NDE techniques as required for business or technical purposes&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Minimum Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Able to work in the field unsupervised and meet scheduled examination and reporting requirements.</li><li>Strong client-facing skills and ability to communicate technical findings effectively in the field&nbsp;</li><li>Currently qualified, or able to become qualified within a reasonable timeframe, in UT Phased Array (PAUT) using EPRI or other industry-recognized methodologies&nbsp;</li><li>Level II certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), including shear wave and phased array, in accordance with ASNT or equivalent&nbsp;</li><li>Level II certifications in MT, PT, and VT&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of relevant field experience performing NDE&nbsp;</li><li>Demonstrated experience with phased array equipment and weld inspection&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to read and interpret inspection procedures, isometric drawings, P&amp;IDs, and fabrication drawings&nbsp;</li><li>Familiarity with applicable codes including ASME B31.1, B31.3, and AWS D1.1 as they pertain to NDE&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to work in field environments including heights, confined spaces, and outage conditions&nbsp;</li><li>Willingness and ability to travel extensively (50%+)&nbsp;</li><li>Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Preferred Requirements &amp; Qualifications:</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li>Level III certification in UT&nbsp;</li><li>Experience performing NDE in power generation environments, particularly high energy piping systems&nbsp;</li><li>Familiarity with degradation mechanisms such as flow-accelerated corrosion (FAC), creep, and thermal fatigue&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with encoded or automated PAUT systems&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
