As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be at the heart of our pharmacy operations, ensuring that our beloved community receives the medications they need safely and efficiently.</p><ul><li><strong>Role Highlights:</strong>&#160;As a vital member of our team, you will assist pharmacists in preparing, filling, and delivering medications, ensuring smooth daily operations.</li><li><strong>Work Environment:</strong>&#160;You'll thrive in a supportive setting that values teamwork and collaboration, where every day is an opportunity to make a difference.</li><li><strong>Impact and Growth:</strong>&#160;Your role is essential in minimizing service interruptions and providing leadership to your colleagues, ensuring patient care is always a priority.</li><li><strong>Team Collaboration:</strong>&#160;Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional service to our community.</li><li><strong>Mission-Driven:</strong>&#160;Join us in our commitment to improving health and wellness in the Houston community.</li></ul><p>We value your dedication and are here to support your professional journey with opportunities for growth and development.</p><h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li>Assist pharmacists by obtaining and entering patient information to ensure appropriate medication doses.</li><li>Ensure patients receive correct medications using proper dispensing procedures.</li><li>Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies, using safety precautions when stocking.</li><li>Prioritize tasks based on workload to ensure efficient operations.</li><li>Process insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations promptly.</li><li>Complete and document daily and monthly activity checklists, including expired drug checks and area inspections.</li><li>Offer counseling time to patients and document when refused.</li><li>Communicate with referring physician offices or insurance companies as needed.</li><li>Perform weekly controlled substance cycle counts and document appropriately.</li><li>Participate in the education of new employees and training of pharmacy staff.</li><li>Provide positive customer service at the cash register, adhering to Legacy Community Health's standards.</li><li>Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure respectful communication with customers and co-workers.</li><li>Notify the Pharmacy Manager of unresolved issues and disseminate important information to peers.</li><li>Participate in physical inventories and support the 340b program inventory integrity.</li><li>Maintain prescription files and perform daily money collection procedures.</li><li>Reconcile prescription fills against billing and perform other assigned duties.</li></ul><h2><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></h2><ul><li>Must have high school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Must have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.</li><li>Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.</li><li>Must be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities.</li><li>Must maintain BLS /CPR.</li><li>Must maintain required certifications.</li><li>Must have two (2) years healthcare experience.</li><li>Bachelor's Degree preferred.</li><li>1+ years community pharmacy preferred.</li><li>1+ years pharmacy logistics preferred.</li><li>Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.</li><li>Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.</li><li>Demonstrate project management skills and understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management and managing a cash register.</li><li>Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.</li><li>Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.</li><li>Computer experience Windows, Excel, and Accounting software.</li><li>Bilingual preferred.</li></ul><h2><strong>About Legacy Community Health</strong></h2>As the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Southeast Texas, Legacy Community Health has been delivering comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care for nearly 40 years.
