    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong>You belong at Day &amp; Ross.&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<p><span>Planner</span><br><span>Full-time</span><br><span>Brampton, ON</span></p>\n<p><span>Schedule: 1am – 9:30am</span></p>\n<p><span>The P&amp;D Planner will be responsible for planning, organizing and monitoring incoming and outgoing freight to ensure the most timely and efficient utilization of dock space, equipment and movement of freight.&nbsp;</span></p>\n<p><span><strong>How You’ll Help</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Creating routes/load plans that take all business requirements into consideration [customer experience, operational efficiencies &amp; increased cost savings for the company and our driver/broker community.</span></li>\n <li><span>Review route/load plan within system and initiate adjustments to the plan as required, inclusive of appointment freight.</span></li>\n <li><span>Trigger optimization, if necessary to ensure P&amp;D plan is aligned.</span></li>\n <li><span>Ensure all trailer and route planning in accordance with transportation laws and company policies regarding weight and weight distribution, cbing, transportation of dangerous goods are being followed</span></li>\n <li><span>Monitor and review close times and productivity, noting trends to support improvement initiatives</span></li>\n <li><span>Ensure shipments are status coded when being added and/or removed from load plan</span></li>\n <li><span>Making suggestions for improvement in planning and dock processes for increased efficiency</span></li>\n <li><span>Other related duties as may be required&nbsp;</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><strong>Your Skills &amp; Experience:&nbsp;</strong></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>A minimum secondary education, with preference for post-secondary education in supply chain and logistics management</span></li>\n <li><span>A suitable combination of post-secondary education and experience will be considered&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Minimum of two-three years’ experience in dock operations, preferably in the transportation industry</span></li>\n <li><span>Other experience in the transportation industry may be considered and in addition to dock experience would be considered an asset.&nbsp;</span>\n  <ul>\n   <li><span>Strong communication skills in both English and French</span></li>\n   <li><span>Advanced computer skills with strong Excel capability as well as experience with other MS Office products and web based programs. &nbsp;Previous experience with Truckmate and Bringg is an asset</span></li>\n   <li><span>Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment</span></li>\n   <li><span>Analytical thinker, able to analyze data and make operational decisions based on that data</span></li>\n   <li><span>Strong sense of urgency and ability to respond to demands in a calm manner.</span></li>\n   <li><span>Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to manage demands and resolve issues&nbsp;</span></li>\n   <li><span>Strong problem solving skills with the ability to implement proactive solutions to support operational demands and efficiencies.&nbsp;</span></li>\n   <li><span>Results focused</span></li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span>To apply, visit our Careers page at <strong>dayross.com</strong>.</span><br><br><span>If you’re chosen for the role, you’ll be asked to provide reference and criminal background checks before employment.
