JOB TITLE Senior Engineering Manager (m/w/d) Sie sind verantwortlich für die Gesamtleitung des Teams der Abteilung „EU Application Engineering“ in unserer globalen Produktlinie „Pneumatics Solutions“, um die Unternehmensziele in Bezug auf Technologieentwicklung, Produktdesign und -entwicklung für alle Kundenprojekte zu erreichen. Sie arbeiten eng mit dem Vertrieb/Marketing zusammen und unterstützen diese bei der Akquise und Definition neuer Programme; Außerdem unterstützen Sie bei Bedarf weltweit Produktionsstätten und die Verfahrenstechnik sowie Plattform- und Innovationsteams, um die Unternehmensziele zu erreichen, die effizienteste Konstruktion für Fertigung und Montage zu geringsten Kosten zu gewährleisten und ein profitables Wachstum voranzutreiben. Sie erfüllen die folgenden Aufgaben persönlich oder durch unterstellte Mitarbeiter. Responsible for the overall operation of the EU Application Engineering team in our global Product Line “Pneumatics Solutions” to meet company goals and objectives relative to technology development, product design and development for all customers' programs. Works closely with and supports Sales/Marketing to acquire and define new programs; supports production plants and process engineering as well as platform & innovation teams globally as necessary to meet company goals and to provide the most efficient design for manufacturing and assembly at the least cost and drive a profitable growth. Performs the following duties personally or through subordinate staf AUFGABEN UND VERANTWORTLICHKEITEN • Verantwortlich dafür, dass das Produkt gemäß den geltenden Spezifikationen und unter Einhaltung verschiedener Industriestandards sicher, kosteneffizient und termingerecht entwickelt wird, wobei der APQP-Prozess einzuhalten ist. • Sicherstellung robuster Konstruktionsverfahren unter Berücksichtigung von Systemtechnik, Anforderungs- und Fehlermanagement sowie Hardware-, Software- und Fertigungstechnik. • Sicherstellung der Überprüfung von Validierungsprüfplänen und -ergebnissen sowie der Anwendung geeigneter Prüf- und Validierungsmethoden. • Gibt Feedback zur Konstruktionsdurchführbarkeit; prüft DVP&R und genehmigt gegebenenfalls die Verwendung von Ersatzdaten. • Unterstützt die finanziellen und kommerziellen Ziele, die für die Produktlinie „Pneumatics Solution“ von Gentherm in Europa festgelegt wurden, und unterstützt aktiv Initiativen zur Kostensenkung • Sorgt für die kontinuierliche Verbesserung des bestehenden Produktdesigns und der internen Prozesse, um die Kundenzufriedenheit zu steigern (CI- und VAVE-Initiativen) • Erstellung von Vorschlägen zu Ressourcen und Zeitplänen für das Projektmanagement von der Entwurfsphase bis hin zur Produktion und zum Service. • Leitung von Entwicklungsbesprechungen mit dem Kunden und Vertretung von Gentherm bei Präsentationen oder Eskalationen. • Überwachung der Arbeitsbelastung und der Ressourcen des Entwicklungsteams • Zuweisung von Aufgaben an Teammitglieder, einschließlich der Bewältigung von Ressourcenkonflikten und gegebenenfalls Eskalation an den Entwicklungsleiter • Vertretung von Teammitgliedern bei deren Abwesenheit. • Bearbeitung von Kundenbeschwerden und Rücksendungen unter Einbeziehung des Produktspezialisten und des Programmmanagers. • Sofortige Meldung aller technischen Bedenken hinsichtlich unrealistischer Projektzeitpläne und/oder Ressourcenengpässen. Rechtzeitige Definition und Behebung von Konstruktionsproblemen, sobald diese in der Angebotsphase, beim Prototypenbau und/oder in der Produktion auftreten. • Sicherstellung einer guten Kommunikation, ordnungsgemäßer Abläufe und eines guten Arbeitsumfelds innerhalb des Entwicklungsteams. • Mitwirkung an der Verbesserung und Einführung neuer Produktentwicklungstools (CADSysteme, PLM-Systeme, Datenübertragung) • Sonstige zugewiesene Aufgaben ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for ensuring that product is designed within various industry standards according to applicable specification in a safe, cost efficient and timely manner while following the APQP process • Ensure robust Engineering Procedures under consideration of Systems Engineering, Requirements & Defects Management, HW/SW & Industrial Engineering. • Ensure review of validation test plans and results and ensure that adequate test & validation methods are used. • Provide feedback in design feasibility; Review DVP&R as well approve use of surrogate data where applicable. • Support the financial and commercial objectives set for Gentherm’s Pneumatics Solution Product line in Europe and actively support cost reduction initiatives • Ensure the continuous improvement of existing product design and internal processes to increase customer satisfaction (CI and VAVE initiatives) • Generate input regarding resources and timing for the Project Management from design phase through production and service. • Manage engineering development meetings with the customer and represent Gentherm in presentations or escalations. • Oversee engineering team workload and resources • Assign tasks to team members including management of resource conflicts and escalation to Engineering Director if necessary • Cover for team members when they are not present. • Facilitate customer complaints and returns with feedback from Product Specialist and Program Manager MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor-Abschluss in Maschinenbau, Elektrotechnik, Mechatronik oder einem vergleichbaren Fachgebiet (Master-Abschluss von Vorteil). • Mindestens 10 Jahre Erfahrung in der Anwendungsentwicklung, Produktentwicklung oder im technischen Vertrieb im Automobilbereich bei einem Tier-1- oder Tier-2-Zulieferer. • Mindestens 5 Jahre Erfahrung in der Personalführung mit nachweisbaren Erfolgen beim Aufbau leistungsstarker Teams. • Fundierte Kenntnisse der Entwicklungsprozesse in der Automobilindustrie (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA). • Fundiertes Systemverständnis in mindestens einem der folgenden Bereiche: Antriebsstrang, Thermomanagement, Fahrwerk oder Elektrifizierungssysteme. • Flüssiges Englisch und Deutsch Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse • Hands-on-Mentalität • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent (Master's preferred). • 10+ years of experience in automotive application engineering, product engineering, or technical sales within a Tier 1/Tier 2 environment. • 5+ years of people management experience with a proven track record of developing highperforming teams. • Deep knowledge of automotive development processes (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA). • Strong system-level understanding of at least one of the following: powertrain, thermal management, chassis, or electrification systems. • Fluent English and German Hands-on-Mentality NICE TO KNOW Wir bieten / we offer: • Strukturierte Einarbeitung • Spannende Aufgaben in einem erfolgreichen und international ausgerichteten Unternehmen • Möglichkeit für hybrides Arbeiten • Geeignete Weiterbildungs- und Entwicklungsaktivitäten, u.a.
