Senior Diesel Shop Manager

Job overview: Manage a Schneider company shop as a Diesel Shop Manager in Phoenix, AZ. Focus on increasing business satisfaction, lowering the cost of repairs and increasing equipment availability. Responsibilities: Reinforce and demonstrate Schneider’s core values as a leader of a shop. Address any unsafe behaviors to ensure safety compliance. Be accountable for all maintenance costs, equipment availability and repair decisions within the shop. Have strong communication with other areas of the business to understand needs and priority of equipment. Be responsible for maintaining appropriate parts inventory. Oversee the budget for the shop, including expenses related to tires, tooling, miscellaneous items and overtime. Assign work to shop associates and maintain an open line of communication with associates. Perform live work order audits and performance audits of shop associates. Set performance goals for the shop as a whole and for individual shop associates. Ensure the shop is properly staffed from a technician and leader standpoint. Skills and qualifications: A technical degree in diesel technology or related field. 4-6 years of diesel technician experience. Previous shop leadership experience preferred. Previous transportation industry experience preferred. Able to work a minimum of one weekend day per month. Can create a high-performance environment through strong leadership skills.
