Industrial Mechanic position is located in New Paltz, NY.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Ready to become a Viking?</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical</li>\n <li>Dental</li>\n <li>Vision</li>\n <li>Company sponsored Health Savings Account (HSA)</li>\n <li>401k with match</li>\n <li>Paid Vacation and Sick Time</li>\n <li>Life Insurance</li>\n <li>Long Term Disability Insurance</li>\n <li>Pet Insurance</li>\n <li>Semiannual profit sharing</li>\n <li>Training Programs with the Council of Industry</li>\n <li>Growth from within the company</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Wage Description: $22 to $32 an hour depending on experience.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>JOB DUTIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Adhere to all safety policies and procedures</li>\n <li>Provide resolution to mechanical and electrical problems </li>\n <li>Repair defective equipment such as A/C-D/C drives </li>\n <li>Perform routine electrical and mechanical preventative maintenance</li>\n <li>Rebuild complex gear trains</li>\n <li>Run machines for testing, repair and to coach operators on proper operation of machines</li>\n <li>Document all maintenance activities accurately and maintain records</li>\n <li>Ensure the work environment remains uncluttered, clean, and well-maintained to ensure safety</li>\n <li>Assist in the procurement of spare parts and inventory management </li>\n <li>Help ensure that all company standards and customer commitments are met</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Safety conscious</li>\n <li>Ability to operate machinery to inspect, troubleshoot, evaluate performance, calibrate, repair, and perform preventative maintenance </li>\n <li>Knowledge of mechanicals, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, power transmission and pumps</li>\n <li>Experience organizing, planning, and prioritizing work</li>\n <li>Consistent decision making and problem solving that may require creative out of the box thinking</li>\n <li>Sense of urgency and accountability</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Positive attitude</li>\n <li>Self-motivated, able to follow through with assignments to completion</li>\n <li>Required to operate a forklift and scissor lift</li>\n <li>Willing to work overtime and some weekends </li>\n <li>Must lift up to 50 pounds</li>\n <li>Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, carry equipment/parts, talk, hear, kneel, climb, crouch, stoop, and crawl.</li>\n <li>Regular use of hands to feel, handle, reach, and operate various tools </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent is required</li>\n <li>Two-year technical degree and/or appropriate work experience</li>\n <li>Basic working knowledge of mechanics, electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics</li>\n <li>Exceptional work ethics</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and organizational skills</li>\n <li>Flexibility / willingness to operate and work on multiple types of machinery</li>\n <li>Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, mechanical prints, and parts manuals</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel</li>\n <li>Experience in Corrugated manufacturing or flexographic printing a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Company Profile</h2>\n<p>Viking Industries has specialized in the manufacturing of corrugated packaging and providing logistical solutions to its clients, for the past 52 years.
