    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Tier One Technologies is seeking a Sr. SQL Database Administrator with national production environments experience to support our US Government client.</li>\n <li>This is going to be a 100% remote position.</li>\n <li>SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform planning, development, implementation, maintenance and support client’s centralized organization for total support of the database environment. This includes executing national production applications on the client' large, complex and widely distributed Microsoft NT operating system environment and Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure throughout the United States.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain the project plans in accordance with client’s standards. Weekly status reporting will be required. </li>\n <li>Develop standards and procedures, both operational and functional. </li>\n <li>Perform other duties in support of the organization’s mission as directed by the client’s management.</li>\n <li>Interact with other client organizations and individuals, such as developers and end users, in order to understand applications and resolve problems. </li>\n <li>Support different shifts to enable 24x7 support; may be required to carry a pager and be on call and be required to work varied schedules required by large, diverse and complex client production environment. </li>\n <li>Occasional travel may be required.</li>\n <li>Work independently or semi-independently with a minimum of guidance or direction.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the degree is not in the applicable field, then 4 additional years of related experience is required. </li>\n <li>15+ years of overall IT experience.</li>\n <li>10+ years of DBA experience.</li>\n <li>8+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in production environments.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 (T-SQL, SSMS, Agent Jobs, Maintenance Plans).</li>\n <li>Experience with backup and restore strategies, including full, differential, and transaction log backups.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of database recovery models and point-in-time recovery.</li>\n <li>Ability to create and maintain database documentation and operational runbooks.</li>\n <li><u>Disaster Recovery & High Availability:</u>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Hands-on experience with Always On Availability Groups and/or SQL Server Failover Clustering.</li>\n   <li>Knowledge of Log Shipping and Database Mirroring.</li>\n   <li>Familiarity with backup encryption and offsite retention strategies</li>\n   <li>Participated in and supported DR drills and contingency planning</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><u>SQL Monitoring & Performance Tuning:</u>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Skilled in performance troubleshooting using SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and DMVs.</li>\n   <li>Ability to identify and resolve deadlocks, blocking, and slow-running queries.</li>\n   <li>Experience tuning indexes, reviewing execution plans, and maintaining stats.</li>\n   <li>Familiarity with SQL monitoring tools (e.g., Redgate, SolarWinds DPA, Sentry One).</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><u>Architecture & Design:</u>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Understanding of normalized and denormalized schema design.</li>\n   <li>Experience with table partitioning, filegroups, and database file I/O planning.</li>\n   <li>Participated in storage capacity planning and database lifecycle management.</li>\n   <li>Supports scalability and performance through smart database design decisions.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><u>DevOps for SQL Server:</u>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Familiar with CI/CD pipelines involving SQL deployments (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLab, Octopus Deploy).</li>\n   <li>Experience with version control for database objects (e.g., Git + SQL Source Control).</li>\n   <li>Support for automated database deployments and schema changes.</li>\n   <li>Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts using PowerShell or ARM templates.</li>\n   <li>Legacy SharePoint DBA Support.</li>\n   <li>Experience maintaining backend SQL databases for legacy SharePoint environments (2010/2013/2016).</li>\n   <li>Familiar with SharePoint content databases, service application databases, and search indexing structures.</li>\n   <li>Ability to support site migrations, database integrity checks, and performance tuning for SharePoint SQL backends.</li>\n   <li>Collaborate with SharePoint Admins on patching and upgrading activities.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><u>.NET Application Support on SQL Server:</u>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Supported ASP.NET and .NET Core web applications with SQL Server backends.</li>\n   <li>Familiar with connection pooling, application-level query performance, and ORM frameworks like Entity Framework.</li>\n   <li>Ability to trace SQL calls from web apps and optimize database access patterns.</li>\n   <li>Worked with application developers to improve data access performance and scalability.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><u>General Requirements:</u>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Strong documentation skills and adherence to ITSM/ITIL change control practices.</li>\n   <li>Basic PowerShell scripting experience for SQL and system task automation.</li>\n   <li>Must be effective communicator across DB, application, and infrastructure teams.</li>\n   <li>Demonstrate willingness to support on-call rotation and occasional after-hours work.</li>\n   <li>Work on high-visibility, or mission critical aspects of a given program, and perform all functional duties independently.</li>\n   <li>Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.</li>\n   <li>Excellent communication skills.</li>\n   <li>Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.</li>\n   <li>Must be a US Citizen or have US Permanent Residence status (Green Card).</li>\n   <li>Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years and not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in last 5 years.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>",
