Description
As a TABERC intern, you will be immersed in a vibrant research environment, working closely with a mentor to gain hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques. This internship provides a unique platform to explore bioscience disciplines and develop essential skills for a future career in research.
Responsibilities
Conduct 137 hours of laboratory research on mycoviruses infecting fungal pathogens of cotton. Master various molecular biology techniques for virus detection, identification, and characterization. Present research findings at a TABERC Board meeting and local scientific events, enhancing communication skills. Engage in professional development sessions to broaden your understanding of bioscience disciplines. Collaborate with a mentor to set research goals and ensure a productive internship experience. Maintain accurate records and documentation of research activities and findings. Attend TABERC-organized events and workshops to network with other interns and researchers. Assist in data analysis and interpretation, contributing to the overall research project. Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in a bioscience-related field. Strong interest and background in molecular biology and virology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
