We provide an integrated system of healthcare experts committed to providing exceptional care.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities & Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Responsibilities </u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other health care providers.</li>\n <li>The RN is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.</li>\n <li>Utilizing organizational resources the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities.</li>\n <li>The delivery of nursing care within the Kettering Health Network reflects the missions, vision, values and philosophies, of the organization and nursing departments</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Applicants Must Have:  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse</li>\n <li>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ACEN or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse.</li>\n <li>Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred (must be completed within 5 years of hire).</li>\n <li>A nurse who is returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.</li>\n <li>BLS certification</li>\n <li>ACLS, NRP, PALS as determined by unit scope of practice</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>POSITION: LAAC Coordinator</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The LAAC Coordinator functions under the direction of the Structural Heart Program manager.  The LAAC Coordinator serves as a central figure in the care coordination and participates in clinical management of patients with atrial fibrillation with a specific emphasis on left atrial appendage closure procedures.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Minimum five years clinical experience with three-five years in cardiac nursing and/or broad knowledge in LAAO/Structural Heart disease. Demonstrated computer and electronic health documentation, data entry and management and information presentation.</p>\n<p>BLS and ACLS required- Must be completed within 60 days of hire</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to communicate clearly, establish and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams</li>\n <li>Good prioritization skills</li>\n <li>Responsible for assisting with management, growth of LAAC program</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain detailed, accurate records</li>\n <li>Must possess high degree of self-motivation and ability to function independently while utilizing critical thinking skills</li>\n <li>Ability to adapt to change, multitask and manage stressful situations</li>\n <li>Proficient in Microsoft office products especially Excel spreadsheets and Power Point</li>\n <li>Monitors outcomes and oversees process improvement activities associated with LAAC program in collaboration with clinical and leadership teams to drive quality outcomes</li>\n <li>Responsible for maintaining all regulatory guidelines and requirements</li>\n <li>Facilitate activities associated with system expansion of LAAC program including physician and clinical staff education</li>\n <li>Coordinates referral process and introduces patients to LAAC program </li>\n <li>Educates patient and family regarding LAAC process, indications, procedure, and follow-up</li>\n <li>Schedules and completes prior authorization for LAAC procedure</li>\n <li>Collaborates with LAAC implanters to plan, develop, and implement decisions made for each patient’s plan of care</li>\n <li>May complete any other tasks as indicated by manager</li>\n</ul>",
