Description

Biola University announces a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the graduate theology department of Talbot School of Theology beginning Fall 2026. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in pneumatology, ecclesiology, and eschatology. Rank to be determined commensurate with education and experience. Candidates must be willing to relocate in order to work in residence at Talbot’s campus in La Mirada, CA. RESPONSIBILITIES: Faculty members are subject matter experts in their respective disciplines who actively integrate their faith in teaching, research, and life. This faculty position fulfills the following duties: Teach 21 credits per academic year in existing graduate courses. Provide academic and professional advisement to students. Remain current in their field by engaging in research, scholarship, and publication. Serve on department and university committees as assigned. Participate in campus, university, local church, and community service activities. Participate in other professional duties. QUALIFICATIONS: Ideal candidates will have: Completed PhD in theology or a similar field (required). Academic training, expertise, and research publications in theology. Strong research capacity. Commitment to teaching excellence with strong teaching skills. Experience teaching academic courses in theology. Ability to teach courses online. Willingness to teach at the graduate, undergraduate, and doctoral levels. Mature Christian character with a demonstrated commitment to service in the local church. Additional ministry experience is preferred. All Talbot faculty are expected to show a collegial spirit, a concern for the spiritual formation of students, and a desire to assist Biola University broadly with the integration of faith and learning. Biola University is a protestant evangelical Christian university in which faculty affirm personal faith in Jesus Christ, endorse a university statement of Christian faith and community values, and are committed to the integration of faith and learning. Candidates must be willing to support Biola’s mission, and preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a clear commitment to the integration of faith into their scholarship and teaching.
