Apply today to join our team!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>As a Program Support Assistant with VCH you will:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform a variety of administrative support functions such as inputting client information into computerized client information systems, word processing, composing and signing correspondence, type reports and documents, answer general inquiries related to programs and policies, book appointments and meetings.</li>\n <li>Assist the community/public health nurse, allied health professionals, and other team members in the organization and operation of designated program clinics/services.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ABOUT BELLA COOLA, BC:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Bella Coola sits in a mountain valley at the head of the North Bentinck Channel, 500 km north of Vancouver, with a population of about 1800 people. The community is at the end of a long, truly magnificent fjord, on the mainland coast of British Columbia. Bella Coola General Hospital has 10 acute bed, 5 residential beds and a 3 bed emergency department open 24/7, along with a laboratory, diagnostic imaging services, Telehealth, Mental Health, Public Health, Home & Community Support Services. Also within the hospital are a medical clinic and a pharmacy.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Grade 12, graduation from an Office Administration program supplemented by one (1) year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.</li>\n <li>Valid B.C. Driver’s license and local area travel requiring the use of a personal vehicle may be required and will be noted on the posting.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge & Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of office practices and procedures.</li>\n <li>Knowledge and proficiency in relevant software. (Word, Excel, graphic applications)</li>\n <li>Ability to keyboard 5,000 keystrokes per hour.</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and effectively with others.</li>\n <li>Ability to be sensitive, tactful and diplomatic with clients and the public.</li>\n <li>Ability to organize and prioritize work.</li>\n <li>Ability to compile information.</li>\n <li>Ability to perform relevant calculations.</li>\n <li>Ability to operate related equipment.</li>\n <li>Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Closing Statement</h2>\n<p>The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
