We are committed to delivering compassionate, capable, and personalized treatment to our patients and their families, always keeping in mind that our responsibility is to the health needs of the people.</i><br><br><b><u>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</u></b><ol><li>Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols</li><li>Position patients and operate X-ray equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic images</li><li>Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety standards for patients, staff, and self</li><li>Review and evaluate developed images for technical quality and proper identification</li><li>Prepare and maintain accurate patient records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards</li><li>Work closely with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure imaging accuracy and timely results</li><li>Transport or assist in transporting patients when necessary; may include trauma and emergency cases</li><li>Perform quality control checks and calibrations on equipment regularly</li><li>Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, report malfunctions to the appropriate personnel</li><li>Following infection control, HIPAA, and hospital safety protocols</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ol><br><b><u>QUALIFICATIONS:</u></b><br><br><b>Education and Training:</b> Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field. Active license as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Louisiana is required. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.<br><br><b>Work Experience:  </b> One (1) year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.<br><br><b>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:</b><ul><li>Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning and anatomy</li><li>Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress or trauma situations</li><li>Capable of troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining imaging equipment</li><li>Sensitivity to patients needs, fears, and concerns during procedures</li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient care skills</li><li>Commitment to teamwork, professionalism, and continuous learning</li><li>Familiar with electronic medical records (EMR)</li><li>Analyzing information, critical thinking, and problem solving</li><li>Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times</li></ul><br><b>Physical Requirements:</b><ul><li>Frequent movement between exam rooms, imaging areas, and patient units</li><li>Frequently lift, move, or assist patients weighing up to 200+ pounds with proper body mechanics or lift equipment</li><li>Regularly lift or carry equipment or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds</li><li>Ability to push and/or pull mobile x-ray machines, patient beds, stretchers, or wheelchairs</li><li>Assist in positioning patients or moving heavy imaging equipment</li><li>Ability to position self to position patients or adjust equipment at low angles</li><li>Fine motor skills needed to operate controls, manipulate imaging equipment, and work with smalls tools</li><li>Precise hand-eye coordination for accurate positioning and equipment handling</li><li>Ability to observe details at close range such as patient ID bands and imaging screens</li><li>Sufficient hearing to respond to alarms, patient needs, and communication from staff</li><li>Ability to remain in a stationary period for extended periods of time</li><li>Constantly operates a computer, office, and patient care machinery.</li><li>Potential exposure to radiation and infectious materials (PPE and safety measures required)</li><li>Tolerance for working in low-light or darkroom conditions</li></ul><br><b>OSHA EXPOSURE CATEGORY:     A</b>     Has exposure to blood borne pathogens.<br><br><b><u>Equal Opportunity Statement:</u></b><br>We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender, sex, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.",
