High school or equivalent preferred.<br>&bull; A minimum of 6 months as a cook with dietary experience in a health care setting or full line cafeteria or any &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;combination which provides required skills.<br><br>Essential Job Functions<br>&bull; Review menus prior to preparation of food.<br>&bull; Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.<br>&bull; Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.<br>&bull; Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.<br>&bull; Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.<br>&bull; Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.<br>&bull; Prepare and serve bedtime snacks as requested.<br>&bull; Use proper technique to taste prepared food to ensure quality taste and prior to service and take corrective<br>action if needed.<br>&bull; Maintain proper temperature of food during preparation and service.<br>&bull; Report any malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor and/or maintenance.<br>&bull; Label, date and store food properly according to established policies.<br>&bull; Record food temperature prior to meal service and take correction action if needed.<br>&bull; Assist in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared and served on<br>time.<br>&bull; Process diet changes and new diets as received.<br>&bull; Assist in inventory and storage of food, supplies, etc. Notify supervisor if supplies are inadequate.<br>&bull; Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by supervisor, to include any special projects.<br>&bull; Maintain punctual and regular attendance on the job site.<br>&bull; Ability to handle reasonably necessary stress.<br>&bull; Develop and maintain a good working relationship with staff, resident/patients, and visitors.<br>&bull; Remain alert and awake on the job.<br><br>Responsibilities<br>&bull; Ensure that department is maintained in a clean and safe manner.<br>&bull; Ensure that kitchen cleaning schedules are followed.<br>&bull; Participate in staff development programs and staff meetings.<br>&bull; Carry out assignments in a prompt and efficient manner.<br>&bull; Report immediately any work-related injury, occupational exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious materials,<br>and hazardous chemical to the supervisor.<br>&bull; Follow established infection control procedures when performing duties.<br>&bull; Report immediately all grievances and complaints, all allegations of resident/patient abuse, neglect and/or &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>misappropriation of resident/patient property, all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, all<br>unsafe/hazardous conditions or defective equipment, either by resident/patients or family to supervisor.<br>&bull; Notify supervisor of equipment and supply needs.<br>&bull; Maintain confidentiality of resident/patient and company information.<br>&bull; Treat all resident/patients fairly, with kindness, dignity, and respect.<br>&bull; Comply with policies and procedures.<br>&bull; Adhere to work assignments.<br>&bull; Adhere to dress code.&nbsp;</p><p>Specific Requirements<br>&bull; Must be able to read and write the English language.<br>&bull; Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.<br>&bull; Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.<br>&bull; Must possess flexibility.<br>&bull; Must demonstrate sensitivity to the special needs of resident/patients.<br><br>Working Conditions<br>&bull;
