    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><div><p><strong><em>This position requires the applicant to have BOTH qualifications as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and a Registered Polysomnographic Technician. Both job descriptions are listed below. While this will be a combined hybrid position, the applicant should note the duties for each individual position.</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>Sleep Center Technologist</u></strong></p><p>Reports to: Sleep Center Director</p><p>FLSA Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly</p><p>Pioneers Medical Center will lead the effort to improve the health and wellbeing of our</p><p>community.</p><p>Essential Functions</p><p>- Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center</p><p>sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient</p><p>care, and direct patient education.</p><p>- Collect, analyze and accommodate patient information in order to identify and meet</p><p>specific patient needs such as: physical/mental limitations, current</p><p>emotional/physiological status regarding testing procedure, as well as medical/social</p><p>history.</p><p>- Must be competent and confident in their ability to follow established protocols for</p><p>PSG, Split-night, PAP Titration (CPAP, Bi-Level, Auto-Servo Ventilation), End Tidal CO2</p><p>monitoring and O2 qualification/titration</p><p>- Knowledgeable in appropriate use of equipment/supplies and calibration to determine</p><p>proper function of equipment and performance of systems, must also be able to adjust</p><p>accordingly</p><p>- Tech must stay up to date with American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM)</p><p>guidelines.</p><p>- Follows established protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data</p><p>- Identifies, corrects and documents artifact and equipment failures.</p><p>- Implement appropriate interventions, including actions necessary for patient safety and</p><p>therapeutic intervention such as positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.</p><p>- Must be able to score &ldquo;on the fly&rdquo; and by correct standards of the American Academy of</p><p>Sleep Medicine (AASM).</p><p>- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific</p><p>care in the treatment, assessment, and education of adult and geriatric patients.</p><p>- Demonstrate adherence to cleaning and disinfection procedures.</p><p>- Other duties as assigned.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>Registered Respiratory Therapist - Cardiopulmonary</u></strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><br></p><p id=\"isPasted\">Reports to: Cardiopulmonary Director</p><p>FLSA Classification: Full-time, Non-exempt, Hourly</p><p>Pioneers Medical Center will lead the effort to improve the health and wellbeing of our</p><p>community.</p><p>The working environment is a normal clinical setting with exposure to sharps and biological and</p><p>chemical agents. It is expected that facility safety practices and protocols are followed at all</p><p>times.</p><p>Essential Functions</p><p>- Competent delivery of all Respiratory Care procedures as outlined in the department</p><p>policy and procedure manual.</p><p>- Give and receive accurate and complete report. Update and complete patient profile to</p><p>reflect patient&rsquo;s current clinical status.</p><p>- Work in all areas of the hospital.</p><p>- Assist in orientation/training of new employees, respiratory/nursing students, and</p><p>precept new employees during orientation</p><p>- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all respiratory care procedures per</p><p>department policy</p><p>- Verify respiratory care physicians&rsquo; orders. Initial, date, and time order after verification</p><p>- Receive and give accurate report. Update and complete patient profile to reflect patients</p><p>current clinical status. Be prepared and ready to receive/give report at the specified</p><p>times.</p><p>- Attend and participate in departments in-services, meetings, patient care rounds, and</p><p>mandatory hospital meetings.</p><p>- Keep supervisor apprised of changes in workload and patient activity</p><p>- Understand and institute advanced ventilator modalities such as IRV and PC-SIMV.</p><p>- Provide timely and accurate update information to the physicians and other hospital</p><p>personnel. Make recommendations for changes or modification of patient therapy by</p><p>contacting physicians.</p><p>- Enter into the department&#39;s computer all daily services and charges given to patients.</p><p>- Other duties as assigned.</p><p>Patient Care Within Scope Includes, But Is Not Limited To:</p><p>- Perform arterial blood gas sampling.</p><p>- Perform effective airway management to include bag/mask ventilation. Assist</p><p>physician/intubation certified therapist with intubation.</p><p>- Initiate and perform CPR, primarily responsible for airway management.</p><p>- Initiate, maintain and monitor ventilated patients using Bicore and Siements graphics.</p><p>- Interpret flow volumes and pressure volume curves to initiate appropriate clinical</p><p>changes.</p><p>- Evaluate chest x-ray for endotracheal placement and other clinical conditions optimizing</p><p>Respiratory Care delivery.</p><p>- Initiate, maintain, monitor and document continuous mechanical ventilation.</p><p>- Understand and institute advanced ventilator modalities, such as IRV and PC-SIMV.</p><p>Education and Experience</p><p>- Graduation from a two-year AMA-approved School for Respiratory Care</p><p>- Passing score on the NBRC examination</p><p>- Active, unencumbered Colorado State License for performing respiratory care</p><p>- Current BLS, PALS and ACLS certification, classes offered at PMC for new and</p><p>recertification.
