The successful candidate must have a minimum of four years of experience in corporate law and will be responsible for conducting due diligence searches for commercial and real estate transactions, reviewing and summarizing search results, coordinating searches across Canada, preparing PPSA registrations and related filings, and liaising with clients, agents, and internal teams. McCarthy Tétrault employees benefit from a hybrid work environment. As a Business Law Paralegal, you will be: Providing independent professional support services as a member of the National Audit Inquiry Team to provide specialized audit inquiry support throughout the Firm by: First response: gathering all relevant information to conduct an audit inquiry and entering it in the national audit inquiry platform; Research and circulation: conducting research on entities under inquiry, reviewing conflict issues, circulating inquiries, and collecting responses; and Response letters: drafting response letters for review by supervising legal counsel. Providing independent professional support services as a member of the Vancouver Due Diligence Team to provide specialized due diligence support throughout the Firm by: conducting due diligence for real property and commercial transactions including corporate registry, bankruptcy, personal property security registry, Bank Act security registry, land title, court registry (BC and federal), environmental, and municipal; analyzing search results and preparing summaries and lists of issues; coordinating searches throughout all jurisdictions in Canada; preparing draft PPSA registrations, amendments and discharges; providing fee quotes for due diligence matters; keeping up to date on public registry requirements; and liaising with clients, agents and counterparts in our other offices. Assisting with other matters, as required. As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile: College Degree/Certificate in Paralegal studies or equivalent work experience. Minimum one year of experience in business corporate law. Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
